Good Morning,
During one of your videos concerning the Foundry mechanism, we were able to see that you can actually modify items (the looks of them) on mobs in the created dungeons.
I am curious, if the same level of item creation will be possible in the professions ?
To be exact : can the user decide, during creating an, i.e plate armour, what kind of shoulder-pads will it have, or what ornaments will it have on the front ? Even if some fancy looking pieces could be only via the diamonds or zen store, it still would be an interesting and unique experience.
Sincerely,
Demonsthere
Thank You,
Seeing an toolbox as amazing as the Foundry, changing the models shouldn't be a hard time for the devs.
A different idea, but this wouldn't be free fro sure : since the Foundry has an infinite possibilities of creating both, indoors and outdoors maps available for groups, would it be difficult to create guild areas in such a way ? The guild pays for "renting" the ground on which a guild caste/fort/whatsever could stand.
Check my foundry manual to have an idea of what custom items are.
Custom items are a picture which is displayed in inventory and a small text description that appears. Nothing more, nothing less. That is all it does. Like a "Quest item" which you never actually see.
However, later parts of manual will demonstrate how you can change the difficulty of mobs based on a item.
It sounds like the OP is talking about Costuming -- you can basically "dress up" your NPCs to look however you want. Take an Orc and have him wearing leather armor outfit and a plate helment for instance. The costume doesn't affect the stats of the underlying NPC however.
@gillrmn I was referring to the mechanics shown in this video click me !, where Andy Velasquez is changing the appearance of a mob using the foundry elements. My question is, if such a detailed editor could be included in the professions (user generated items with custom looks).

Well I do thank you for your support
I have been playing lately a game called Dungeons (a remake of Dungeon Keeper) in which you are the bad guy luring heroes to your dungeon. And the Foundry is more advanced that this whole games. Well, in my opinion and from a technical point of view, the Foundry is the key element which makes this game different and that potential should be used at its maximum.
Well and as Cryptic has said, they want to charge only for cosmetic staff, which can be created in the Foundry. Another example ? What about recording ones own voice for the NPC in created quests ?

There is a weapon tab for NPC, but right now it does not works. You can customize the armor however you want for an NPC however.
Regarding customizing look of PC using foundry somehow - that is not included at launch. However the engine is capable of something like that as it is being done in foundry.
No voiceover recordings for UGC (User Generated CContent).
Also, you can already change the appearance of any (I think equipped) item in the game by using a costume slot with an item that has the desired look. There are also dyes that can be applied (at least to armor/clothing).
