Oh no... please don't talk about smilies... you don't understand the danger!
Edit: since most of the people will probably be confused, there was a really ridiculous situation where the forums were up-in-arms a while back, because there were bear-smilies. It was really quite dumb, and got blown way out of proportion. Try to imagine the maximum amount of frustration that a person could possibly have about smilies, and then multiply that by graham's number. That's about how ridiculous things got.
- LTS since shortly before the F2P announcement, and very happy about it.

I wouldn't mind seeing themed ones in-game.
With only 2 lines of chat many messages are misunderstood,
they often make up for differences in perception.
I don't use smilies myself but I still think DnD themed ones would be kinda cool. Alot of people like to spam them anyway so why not make it something unique to this game vs the same old HAMSTER we see in every other one.

When life turns it's back on you, sneak attack it for extra damage!

I don't remember it being that dramatic. In fact, I remember most all of the conversaions and suggestions around this event having been quite civil and respectful. In fact, there were even several people who went out of their way to offer and even make some alternative smilies for people.
Regardless, the Anime-Themed bears did not represent a D&D Forum and had to go.
As long as custom-made smilies are not other-wise rule-violating, we generally won't count them as "meme's," as dictated by the Rules of Conduct about Images in posts. Keep such so that they are not offensive and able to be viewed by users of all ages and there should be no issues using custom smilies.

EDIT:-
Oh! And I made them from the scratch. So they are original work (not copied). So I release them under cc - so you are free to share and use them.
