Multiclassing?

Hello everyone, I just signed up to play the beta so bear with me if this question has been asked before (I could not find it though): Will NW be somewhat akin to NWN and allow for multiclassing, or will it go the straightjacket model of other MMO's and have your char be one class, and one class only?

And also, will there be a DM-client to solve the greatest problem of all MMO's: A kill/ban button to keep obnoxious turds out of our creations?

Multiclassing is different in 4e (check my signature, 4e Intro for more details).

However the game is going to use predetermined builds. It will have MMO like customization and not the number crunching like D&D gameplay mechanics.

That is a pity though. The huge range of variety that came with NWN is something I will sorely miss. But if the game is centered around PvP, then it is understandable.

No one ever said this was a PVP focused game, and it is not. It is a highly PVE focused game (re: The Foundry). However, in PVP or PVE, multiclassing is a balancing nightmare, and frankly, better left out.

This game is pretty much going to be D&D in name, location, and name of stuff in the game. It's hardly gonna be D&D. Real time combat. PvP (ins't a D&D concept). Soloing (not a D&D concept).

I think it's going to be a good game even with the F2P horror attached but I seriously doubt it's going to feel anything like D&D or even classic D&D cRPGs.

To be honest, the only reason I am interested in testing the beta is the the potential of the foundry to create our own content and host it. When Bioware made NwN, they made a toolset and slapped a game on top of it. That is why it is the greatest computer D&D adaption to this day. I have a faint hope that the foundry here may be something like it: bringing a toolset to the players of an MMO. If that is not the case, I am afraid Neverwinter will be nothing but yet another bland MMO.

Wait... on what planet is PvP not a D&D concept. Perhaps it didn't happen in your tabletop games but I assure you, plenty of people axed each other in the RPGs I've played over the years. The same can be said for solo play, I figure that even on D&D boards you'll find plenty of stories of 1-3 player (plus DM obviously) D&D games. Certainly Neverwinter isn't 4th ed in the same vein that DDO is 3rd ed, but the Foundry includes a pretty important axis of D&D in storytelling... something generally non-existent in MMOs.
