I saw so many calculations, so many things if the packs are really worth it.
Lemme explain it easily, the more characters you make the more the pack's are worth.
Armored spider mount for EACH char
Panther companion for EACH char
Small Bag of Holding big chance for each char, confirmation?
Delzoun Treasure Box for EACH char
Worth it? That is in the eye of the beholder (save vs death ray!!), but no matter what, the game itself is well made and many will find it worth the money they have invested even without any additional bonuses. I'm happy to have contributed to the game, and almost got my moneys worth in the first beta weekend (and I missed the first day!!). I have no doubt that i'll be happy with NWO at least for a few hundred hours, and that is worth more then $1 an hour to me.
I put the cost of a new game in, I think thats fair. 200 though is a bit of a rip-off for this... I mean, maybe if the game had actual classes (not watered-down, cookie-cutter, hand-holding classes), some more dynamics (like swimming, climbing, skills (idk, kinda like D&D)), or maybe some decent story & missions (instead of lazily relying on their costumers to use they're 'foundry' to make stuff FOR them).
Yeah, like many of Cryptic's games, be sure to come back several years from now... when its an actual game. So in the long-run... totally worth it.

Why hero of the north pack is worth MORE than 200 gold
200...gold?
 you even think in game money.

Not to mention from my calculations the 750k AD is worth like 177 dollars, or around there. Granted ADs aren't exactly defined yet since if mounts and **** go into the millions than theres no way 750k ADs are worth 177 dollars.
I felt that $60 was enough to pay for now. That's the same price as any new XBOX or PC game, so I didn't care to spend it.
I'll have to see more of the game to be willing to spend more than that. $200 for purely digital items is a tad outrageous if you ask me.

I think they put it that high so people wouldnt buy them yet, but I could be wrong, they could also want those to have a high rarity.

Let's look at kick starter projects for example, they offer no promises of items or exclusive perks, yet people support them on the ideas alone.
If someone spent $200 for a founder's pack, they are supporting the development and in return getting exclusive items and perks.
To some people, it's not the value but the desire to support something they think they will enjoy.
If you do not feel it's worth spending money on, don't, it's a pretty easy decision for most people. If you spent the money then later decided it wasn't worth it, you shouldn't have made the decision until you were sure you felt like you were getting your money's worth. That's just bad decision making.
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

Worth is in the eye of the beholder, much like beauty. I could say that family photos are priceless or worth an insane amount of money, but it doesn't mean that they are. For someone out there, a NES cartridge was worth $25,000. But that doesn't mean it's actually worth that.
Furthermore, it also depends on usability. Your diamonds are only usable in this game, all the items you bought are digital. If you create a ton of characters and ONLY play this game, rather than buying others... it'd probably be worth it. Frankly, though, I don't see it. I'm glad you believe you got such a great deal, but they could put any price they wanted to next to that pack to make you feel you got a megadeal.
Remember, this is the same company that thought character skins (the gender swap characters, who actually did some skills differently, making it purchasable power) in Rusty Hearts were worth $20 a piece, until that failed so hard they had to start giving character skins away. Same with Blacklight Retribution thinking that $7.50 is a good price for a permanent receiver. After they made it so you couldn't perm certain new receivers, literally forcing you to either pay 350 credits every day (easily gainable, but a pain), or buy them, a change from their original stance where they were letting you perm anything you wanted (and not making them permable as they release new ones).
Like I said, it's all relative to the beholder. I could buy the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, get all classes, all races, all the extra DLC it launched with, the massive storyline... all for $20. So it all depends on what you feel is worth it.

Anytime you purchase anything for a game, you are supporting them, helping them create new and amazing things to come out with. I, personally, just like to support the game I am going to be playing. I want new things to be released to make my expierence better each and every day.

If someone values it at that price and will buy it at that price that is what it is worth for that person. You can keep twisting words all you like but value is completely in the eye of the beholder and how much that beholder will pay. As a matter of fact the ONLY worth something has is what someone will pay for it. Now don't go off on some tangent about other kinds of worth. We are specifically talking about the worth of something in monetary units not the emotional or spiritual worth of something or any other kind of worth.

to be honest im starting to regret my purchase of it. I think some of the perks are nice but i am a little ticked off that for 200 bucks you only get 3 beta weekends (which was included in the 60 buck pack too) it would have been niced to be included in the "closed" close beta. and automatically be entered in the foundry beta. I love how they didnt bother to let us know untill the last moment and after most of us bought the packs that it seems to me the foundry isnt even going to be included in the beta weekends that its a SEPERATE beta thats ridiculous! ive never made any content for STO that was published yet as i was waiting to do so with Neverwinter as i think it would be more suited for me. One of the main reasons i wanted to get in the beta was being able to try out the foundry. It just really ticks me off a bit that after spending 200 bucks (and yeah they say you didnt "pay" to get in the beta..but lets face it with the preview video they made they more or less made it a big perk) it would have been nice to have acess to all of the betas. not just the weekend ones. Not giving us who payed 200 bucks foundrey access to any of the betas seems a bit of a rip off honestly. But meh. at least whenever the game does finally go "live" i get a 5 day head start with some goodies. I guess its just one of those "buy it and forget it till the game comes out kinda things" I dont entirely regret buying it but i would have liked to get into the foundry beta and i think ill make a thread as a petition to do so.

You pretty much reiterated exactly what I said. But you're forgetting Market Worth, where a company sets the "worth" of something, and how much others will pay for it. The For instance. The starter pack, to me, is only worth $10, with the Guardian $30, and the Heroes pack $60. I'm sorry, that's just how it is, since $60 is the price of a full game, and that's essentially what they're offering. The game itself is free, but the full worth of the game would be $60 for everything in it. That's just my opinion. They set the market value at $200, and say it's worth over $500. People are buying into it, so apparently it's worth that, or more, to people.

While I do not disagree with you, this line of thinking only applies to situations where direct bartering is possible. When it comes to founder's packs, there's really only three possibilities:
-It is worth more
-it is worth it's cost
-it is worth less
Exact numbers on just how much they are worth from person to person is entirely irrelevant, because the company that supplies the product cannot adjust the price for each individual based on that individual's perceived value of the product. So while technically correct, your line of thinking does not apply practically.
I think pre-paying for a game is usually not a very good idea, the reason most MMO's are flops these days so its a risky proposition to begin with. Speaking for myself i did buy founders pack i don't regret its worth it to me for early access + beta weekends , some unique items and frankly i loved being a drow back when i was a kid playing D&D so i guess you can put nostalgia as a reason as well.
Like others have said its subjective if its worth it to a person than great, but I really don't think it has universal value i mean a couple of months after launch most of the stuff you from the founders pack won't matter much unless you are talking about a die hard fan that simply must have some unique cosmetic things.

That is probably about a month into launch. Starting it could be highballed to 300.

Don't like drow will never play one. Mostly for the same reason I will never play an emo sparkly vampire.

I bought it for the panther (and the bag of holding and the 750,000 astral diamonds) but mostly for the panther.

I invested in this game because it's dnd. I love pen and paper rpg, and and this is what I played most. For me the first beta weekend was lots of fun and so far worth every penny.
Honestly $200 is not much to me. I spend $100-$120 just buying pizza for people work with most Saturdays and about $80-100 on wings most Sundays. I make good money and like to spend it ( I also work a lot of hours). A night out at a nice dinner I can blow $200 in a night with liquor easy. Out of all those things only the panther will last me more than a day. I think it is cheap
Oh and no wife or kids to eat up my cash Just a house 2 lap leopards my truck and my Harley.
Hail to you traveler , where do you come from that has this strange currency? doollards? am i saying this right? is that a precious metal where you come from?

The 'millions of AD for a mount' is far from accurate. There is a mount upgrade path that costs that much, but not the stock Rank 3 mounts or training etc. Pretty sure its to physically change a L2 mount to L3 (or perhaps the nightmare, but that I can see being an 'end game' mount)
Hard to price the AD ... certainly will be worth more at launch. Depending on how much Zen people are putting up in trade.
Even without the L60 rare items, Menzo, pet, etc it works out to a game purchase + 8mo gameplay. Sure its rushed, and will be a beta upon release, but I do have faith that they will work hard on all their ideas after release.
(it wasn't an MMO very long ago at all, pretty amazed they could shift directions that quickly tbh)
I'm a little scared of PWI/E, I usually ended up paying more than $15.00/mo lol. At least its Cryptic doing updates and bugfixes, because waiting for CN coders in other PWI releases pretty much blew. (PWE basically had zero control over what localisations, patch content, bugfixes ended up arriving) 99% of the time it was fashions lol!

I can confirm that each character gets the bag of holding. All of my characters got one in the beta weekend.
