Does anyone know the earliest possible time that a digital copy will be available for purchase? I called the local news stand and they won't be getting it until wed. I have to stay up late tonight anyways, so I figure that if there is any way to nab it at say midnight or some such time, then maybe I would.

Most likely it will be made available at midnight, however, if they use PST as midnight you will have to adjust accordingly. Thankfully I live in a small town and magazines are delivered once a week so I got mine this past Friday:D

Yes the Feb edition I've already entered my mount codes in.

I'm curious then is there anything new in regards to a closed beta start date? Any new info at all for that matter? If it's only for the mounts, then I am in no huge hurry to get it.

There is no beta or even release listed in the article no. They indicate the classes, discuss the combat, touch on the foundry and the fact that you will have multiple sets of armor for various things. There is some stuff in there that hasn't been discussed but not like a huge amount. The screens they have are nice as well and those we haven't seen. I would still recommend getting it. I'm not sure how up to date you are with everything that's been discussed. I've been around since the very first website launched and I posted my introduction there:) however for the most part I've been a lurker up until the end of the summer, so I've pretty much gleaned a lot of information that was in the article, but like I said there is stuff in there that hasn't been touched on previously. Don't make your decision on anything I say as I wouldn't want you to come back to me saying that there wasn't much and you found a lot:D
Na I'll still grab it. I'm just no longer in a hurry to. There were several rumors floating around indicating there might be a date for CB to start. I should have known better. It is futile to even rant about it anymore. This is the MOST INEPT ATTEMPT AT MARKETING A PRODUCT i HAVE EVER SEEN. A 4 YEAR OLD SELLING COOL AID ON THE CORNER COULD DO BETTER. There. Mini-rant anyways. Later guys. I'll see ya in 2014 when this game goes into beta in order to prep for the 2015 launch.

I'm not sure if Cyrptic/PWE are not going to coincide the official release date of the magazine with an announcement of some sort. Not entirely sure but I think the community as a whole felt that they were going to without Cryptic/PWE actually saying anything. So who knows we could get an announcement of some sort through either here or other news sites indicating something new on the horizon.
Does the code also give you beta access with the mount? In another thread someone mentioned it did and if so, it would be
good for those who want in.

Yes, the mounts are for the full game but you can redeem it starting as early as beta. If I am wrong about they carrying over, please correct me.
No I don't know if it actually GIVES you beta access or just allows WHEN you get beta to play the mount early. I've alerted the CM to this question and hope I can get an answer on the forums soon.
And respectfully, don't fall for rumors when we say there's no announced beta date. We've already had the CM warn about not going to other websites for fake beta keys or worse, so I'll stop there.
Just a warning guys grab your copies quickly, my Barns And Nobel had two copies and the kid behind the counter remarked that people were buying them in stacks.
of course there is always the digital version if you can't find a hard copy.
Anyone else buy digital us version of pc gamer? I got one but can't seem to find any key inside for the mount?
I was just wondering the very same thing. I browsed every page of the digital copy and I don't see any code for the mounts or instructions on where/how to use it.

In the paper copy its on page 98 the very last page of the magazine and the instructions are tucked in the side panel
For anyone trying to get the key from a digital copy-
Just to save you some aggravation the answer has to be put all lower case in order to work.
Yeah that worked, thanks. Nice of them to tell us that little bit of Info. "Oh btw, loyal customer, you MUST use incorrect grammar in order for the confirmation process to be completed"
I don't understand why people are paying for a mount that looks so plain. Kinda looks like the pony moutns for humans in WoW.
The mount is a promotion. The price of PC-gamer has not increased from previous issue just because of inclusion of mounts. They are just there as a topping.
Now, topping may be amazing, but it is free and what you pay for is what else is there apart from topping. So you are paying for PC-gamer magzine and not for NW-mounts.

but if your buying the magzine for the mount, then you are payign for the mount. I could understand your already sub to PC Gamer then it would be free pony.

You can get a free trial at Barnes and Noble's website if your really irked by having to dish out cash for a magazine.
My question was regarding the laptop reviewed pg 93, Razer Blade didn't work, however razer blade did. It seems pcgamer just got lazy when doing the text checking and is case sensitive.

I agree, unless you're already subscribed to PCG, it's like you're already paying for cosmetics through a similar style cash shop of a game that not even out yet (whether any of the money goes, or has already gone to the game company, I don't know). And for a simple black or white horse, nevertheless. This is something I'm sure many people had already vowed NOT to do. But if the rest of the magazine was truly informative, all is well then I guess.
I'm just going to read the whole magazine article once it appears online personally, since you can't fight or get exp using mounts anyways. My pennyless thoughts.
The marketing team definitely needs work. You've read my posts, you know where I stand. No need to repeat here or now. (Personally I believe things have improved handily, and I am definitely no fanboy as mods can attest to... heh heh) There are still marketing problems. Somehow, the CB date and the PCGamer mag dates got crossed, and many thought they were one in the same.
I believe Cryptic will lose valuable future clients like Tiny over this. Why? Because all they had to do is send ONE REP to the forums here to explain that there will be no CB date mentioned in the article. That would have cleared everything up tidy. There is no excuse for the lack of communication. Solution?: Give your CS community rep the power to talk to the community.
As for the attack of Tiny, thats not cool. He's been a worthy contributor and a regular here. The truth is if Cryptic loses a guy like Tiny, HOW MANY OTHERS on the fence are they going to lose? I don't see many other people other than US overly excited about this game (take a look at the commentary on youtube videos or even under the launch of this very PC Gamer magazine). NO NEED to fight amongst ourselves. We need to be the community that rises above other gaming communities. As many of us have D&D in our blood, this should come natural to us.
Reality check: We need to wait our turn to help in the creation of what seems the next big thing for D&D. Many of us, I truly feel, will get that chance.
