I don't know if anyone would agree with this, but I'd like to see cross play and cross save enabled across all platforms. I'd like to continue my progress from PS4 to my PC and still play with my friends on playstation.
There could be a second version on PC, that's like the console version and enabled for crossplay. Like how Minecraft has java for PC and bedrock for consoles and PC crossplay. So the PC version can continue as is and no crossplay, but the console version on PC you can either transfer your account from consoles or start as new.

It's been asked for years. Progress: 0%

1. They did not have man power to do it. Now, they certainly do not have the man power to do much. 2. They do not have the will to do it because it won't generate enough money to cover the development. They want to cut cost and not adding cost. 3. The communities may not like it especially those who do not care about cross platform. There are 3 economy eco systems. PC are AD rich. Console (seems to be) money rich. The wait time of Zen exchange are very different. Can console players deal with waiting for one year for Zen? Can console players deal with "inflation" because of PC players' stash of AD?

PC got such a head start before console (Arc quests, Gateway, double AD events, bonus ZEN, etc.), and the continued/ease of access they have to bots, macros and scripts that the economy there is quite different and merging it into the others would be ridiculous.
Character progress on the other hand being transferable (non economy influencing things like level, campaign progress and campaign boons) probably wouldn't be so bad though.

What if there was a second version for PC, where you can either start over or transfer your account from consoles? And this second version can have crossplay with consoles.

I would counter that point that games that went crossplay/crossplatform had a bump in players and revenue. Exhibit A and B, are Fortnite and Warframe. Warframe has been around since 2013 just like Neverwinter. I mean if they dont want money and want the game to die they dont have to do it. Also ESO hinted at going crossplay. Theres no excuses anymore.

You compare a success story of another company to the company which is having trouble. How many failed companies folded in development stage before it is launched? I assume you did not pay attention to the news of the whole family of the company. Few sister companies folded in development stage during the restructuring. And, after selling/restructuring, Cryptic still stays within the organization which is having trouble. Read my #1 and #2 again. Without fixing #1, you can't do anything. Without fixing #2, they can't fix #1.

You are going to have provide evidence that this is true. What Family? What sister company? I already explained that there is no excuse. Especially since Cryptic and Deca are going to be working together on the transfer of titles. So there is your number 1 checked off which means #2 will be check off because there is thing called the Zen store where its basically pay to win. Theres several youtubers that have that take on Everwinter. Iactually referenced one company that had trouble...Digital Extremes and now look at them. If Everwinter went crossplay, the player count would increase, thus profits would roll in. Final Fantasy 14 had a horrible launch and almost died and look at it now. It competes with WoW. Stop bootlicking greedy companies and hold them accountable.

1. Check out how many companies under Embracer were folded last year. Volition Games, Free Radical Design, Campfire Cabal. 2. #1 is not fixed because #1 is about they need more people and not laying off people. The following post is from November.
Update: Company says it will "continuously evaluate options" when asked about potential further layoffs
Like it or not, what you want is not in their near future roadmap.
IMO, the game's issue is lack of content. Making cross platform does not increase content. No content, no player. Low content, low player number. If they have the resource (which they don't) and want to increase revenue (which does not mean increasing profit), they should invest to content before anything else.

So you are wrong on lack of content since they just released Wildspace. So thats #1. You say that Embracer closed down studios? ok and? Zenimax/ Betheseda closed down 4 game studios yet they are working on making Elder Scrolls Online cross play. They can do the same to Everwinter. They just dont want to because they rather collect a check. Point 3 which you never mentioned in your reply is how much money they make off theen store they make it crossplay...again no excuse. Why do you keep bootlicking a billion dollar company? This isnt what I want. This is what most gamers want so they arent restricted by their platform. Digital Extremes was an indie developer, their game came out in 2013 just like Everwinter, and they have more players and more money now.... Please stop bootlicking a company....that is not a good look.

1. If you consider the last 10+ mods have content, oh well. If you do, it is low grade content. They should have provided much more. Not making people keep on doing the same thing again and again. 2. How do I know how much they can earn? Do you? 3. How do you figure Cryptic is a billion dollar company? I think you added couple zeros if not more. And, its revenue does not only come from this game. 4. No, a lot of player do not want it. New player, may be. Future player, may be. Mainly because they do not understand Cryptic will mess up the game as usual and as what keep on happening again and again in the last 10 years.

Will Embracer have new money when they are cutting cost? May be. Will they put money to Cryptic? I doubt it.
