Suggestions for increasing play

diggers#2081 diggers Member Posts: 10 Arc User
This is an amazing online. Great game play but here are just a few "was wondering" suggestions I hope that make sense. Make a new class like Shaman.... you already have the power sets on some of the companions. Like wind control or plants or both. You alredy have the Wizard for fire and ice. You could also give the shaman staffs for fighting. To change stuff up. The Incentives are fantastic. But was wondering if they could be added to the treasures or locked boxes you get in dungeouns... The treasure chests and locked boxes lake incentive to get. Worthless is what is in them now. No one really wants to go get them anymore. And speaking of locked boxes... how about giving the rogue and or the bard the ablility to learn how to unlock the boxes without having to buy the kits to do it? just a few suggestions and thank you for all the work and bringing this together.

It took 6 years for us to get the Bard after the Paladin was released.

Maybe but the idea for a Bard had to start somewhere. Don't shoot it down before its even started flapping its wings lol

We know it is not going to happen because many many features that were considered important were asked many times and did not happen. This one is so tiny that most would not even care. Allowing a particular class to open lockbox without paying when the others can't? No, it is not going to happen. Many will not allow that to happen.

I think the OP is talking about skill nodes perhaps rather than the VIP key boxes?

If it is about skill node, every class can open one skill node without using kit.
If certain class can open more, as usual, somebody will complain it is not fair.
On the other hand, many don't even care to open them.
For those who care to open them (like me), they will stock 99 of 4 kits and don't mind buying them.

So, one way (those don't care about skill node) or the other (those who care) or yet another (those righteous of fairness) or yet another (those want something meaningful) or ......, this feature is immaterial and give no meaningful benefit.

Well it was just an idea but obviously some people do not know what a "Rogue" is. That another toon has powers that others can't because its not in their class?? WOW who would have "thunk"? This is a game not real life. And yes I was just talking about the regular boxes not the other ones you have to buy keys from Zen Market/

Rogues get to see and disarm traps that everyone already knows where they are.

We know what a rogue is. The difference is we also know what a rogue is in this game. A lot of rogue skill has been removed from the first few versions of rogue in this game. The common rogue specific skills are pretty much pointless in this game. Nobody waits for the rogue to disarm the trap for them. They either just trigger it or avoid it.

In the early day, a heck/exploit/"undocumented feature" of rogue (used to be called Trickster Rogue) was to walk between walls in house and dungeon to sneak behind to open gate for the party for the shortcut to avoid heavy mobs.

That is why I'm making suggestions for a change in some classes. That is all. But all I'm hearing from everyone is so dang negative. How about doing something constructive ? And before you say "Be realistic", THIS IS JUST A GAME lol Enjoy, Play, No one is perfect in the real world so why should they be perfect in a GAME?

The issue is you can't just change some class. They need to change all classes to compensate the adding advantage for all classes. This is MMO. It is not a single player game. You can't add advantage to one/some class without expecting an uprising and pitch forks.

About 'constructive', there were 10 years of constructive suggestions. And, unfortunately, most were ignored or they chose to go to opposite directions.

So how about letting others have their say instead of telling people that it is useless? I don't really care how long it took to do this or that and no they don't have to go through and change all the classes. Let the Pitchforks fly!!!!! Never conform to others expectations. Be original. Be outstanding. Be different.

Neverwinter online is developed based on D&D lore. The D&D lore and realated stuffs are intelectual properties which belong to company Wizards of the Coast.

The cryptic studios( now gearbox), in order to keep this game, must follow license agreement, thats including making new content or making changes.

So while license agreement allow company develop game by using D&D lore, it also bound company to keep them in line and not create own stuffs. You can't simply drop any random stuffs in game. Like race car as mount. You can do that only if Wizards of the Coast approve it.

In one of your comment you mentioned Shaman class, and what kind abilites it should have. The thing is that in D&D lore, there is Shaman class. So Crytpic would have to follow class concept and build powers based on lore version.

Now the other thing, I am not against your creativity, I actually like that you dare to think some new stuffs. So I don't say stop writing, I would write more.. :) Some stuffs perhaps could be used.
