Auction House Purchases Will be Unlisted with Dragonbone Vale

Hey folks! Friendly neighborhood CM of the other Cryptic games, dropping by to give you a quick announcement while Nitocris is on break.

For the upcoming launch of M22, Dragonbone Vale, all listings on the Auction House will be automatically de-listed, no matter how much time is left on them. It will function exactly the same as if the item expired normally. This is a consequence of the refinement changes that are occurring in this upcoming update. You'll get any items you listed back, but any fees paid to list them will not be returned. Thanks for your understanding, and we can't wait for you to see this exciting new update.

    :# And what is going to happen to those with posting fees on posts that ended prematurely? I know 5 days from today is mod 22 so most posts will end by then, however, those who spend the posting fees the next 5 days, cause they don't hop on Arc forums or in a Discord to see someone put an announcement up about it. :/

    Not everyone reads the forums.

    Is it really arbitrary if it's timed with the release of the new module and the reason is stated? If they put an announcement in game, people won't read those either.

    I'm more worried about my inventory! Let"s see, there will be
    • the things I had listed on the auction.
    • the enchants I had in gear.
    • whatever comes out of dragon eggs.
    Anything else? Time for a clear out or I will be overflowed for a week and unable to do anything.
    I know... if I only sell things that stack from now, that will help.

    I won't have an inventory issue, but I could easily see many others will. Not everyone has their bank expanded and all 60 slot bags, in fact I know one person who always feels "lucky" they have 1-5 slots open.

    The stuff from what we've seen will be sent to our mail, so it shouldn't be an issue as long as you're claiming slowly and exchanging, but then I recall when the adventure zones were changes people were complaining after accepting all the rewards and opening boxes they had to spend an hour cleaning their inventory.... :p

    The stuff you list is the least of your worry.
    Stuff listed in AH will be returned in mail.
    The enchant you have in gear will be returned in mail.
    Dragons eggs. Well, whatever it comes out is whatever it comes out.

    Yes, there are others too. On top of my mind,
    1. Quartermaster spoils (should be opened before mod 22),
    2. converting enchantment to new enchantment currency.
    3. Plan the approach to getting new enchantment the best way,
    4. get the new enchantment,
    5. upgrading enchantment to R5 and make it account wide
    6. .....

    This should be a massive splash post on the main news page. As stated earlier not many people read the forums

    Yeah I agree there should be more notifications than just on here. You could even have a notification that people have to check read before they enter. I didn't know about everyone going to level 20 when that happened. The people in chat were so unhelpful and ridiculous, asking for screen shots and all this HAMSTER instead of just saying it didn't just happen to you it happened to everyone. I had finally hit 80 and was so pleased with myself over it that I was just kind of in shock when I started the game one day and there i was in 20. They should have all been fired. unbelievably rude, this one person kept asking the same question over and over, like "your sure you were 80? how could you tell?".
    I am wondering now is it because of updates when I pay for something and never get it, or upgrade a companion and my stats go down.

    This information could be in game, and players will still not read it. Regularly Facebook, Twitter, and Discord give out links to dev blogs, articles, and stream times. Without just providing links in game (which people won't bother to check), how would you share the information? The community even spreads the word more via youtube videos, twitch streams, or just word of mouth to their own guilds.

    Why not have a new news system in game.. oh wait we do the old devs used to use it now we just use it to get fast access to the Claims agent and it NEVER HAS NEWS ON IT.

    There are more than BIS players in this game
    RIP Real Tiamat, RIP Real Demogorgon RIP real Temple of the spider. Why remove non bis content to give to bis players ????
    FORCING the majority of your player base to play 4 mod old dungeons and trial will have a bad result on player base
    Changes are getting so bad i would rather prefer no new changes (RIP ICE FISHING in winter fest)

    No one clicked on those news links...so why bother updating them?

    Also, Human beings are allowed to have vacations, and likely has all the tweets and posts and everything on a schedule to be released, so it's not like they are avoiding work. It's mostly the day of that they would need to actually be present in case something does break.

    I have an idea that may make announcements like this more easily spotted and also be an interesting place to gather for news. The character is already in the protectors enclave. Have the guy making the old announcements about the spell plague make the announcements about things like this, and some of the other announcements out loud, and if the folks want to know more they can click on him to get their additional news updates.

    1. It would greatly add to the game immersion feel and finally update that character to have relevant content which fits their role
    2. You could also add more "news of the land" to add humor, rumor, and intrigue to the already existing world and quests
    3. It would add more to the game play experience for everyone and entertainment value as well.

    Can they make their announcement within the game using their phone in short notice? I assume they can't make any change in the game through their phone (or unsecure PC). Otherwise, the easiest way is to send a mail within the game to everybody.

    And this is one of the reasons why console players are freezing because you did this and only list the warnings here on forums but not in the actual game client. I got friends and relatives that never knew this, and because their mail wasn't less than half full or they weren't trying to sell a lot, it caused their accounts to be frozen in world. Just a head's up to part of the problems you're going to need to address.
