Masquerade of Liars - achievement (not working)

The achievement "Mask Witness" does not appear to be working.

I've attempted it with various event npcs, for varying lengths of time during the "change" and nothing.

    You get the achievement as soon as Mask speaks.

    Is there a timing or range restriction for this to activate?

    It is random. My idle alt character (which I don't really care) in Moonstone Mask got it by standing there (I was watching TV).

    AFAIK you just have to be close enough for the speech to show on the screen. Easiest way is to just afk in front of a stationary illusionist.

    Yeh I've ticked all these boxes and still nothing, could this bug be specific to my character? Guess it's time to try on an alt

    Just for the heck of it, I found one of my main who did not get "Mask Witness" to stand in Moonstone Mask VIP room. He has just also got it. He stood there for about 8 minutes.
