Ability to skip cut-scenes and and the tedious HAMSTER, especially in Avernus (memory shards)

barelronbarelron Member Posts: 5 Arc User
Please, pretty please. Make everything skippable, after listening to the horribly craptastic writing and voice acting in the weekly memory shards a few times I have determined that all cut scenes and / or npc speeches should be skipped or at least the option to skip. Please for the love of God, dont make everyone listen to Zariel moaning every time we do the quest.

really, you censor HAMSTER? What is this, 1930s bible belt?

A dialogue, boring or not, should not be a quest in the first place; much less a repeating one.

Well, you do get to kill some stuff, but then you got to listen to Zariel and Co. moaning about something for about 10 minutes. I really just want the ability to skip dialogue boxes and cut-scenes....all of them.

That is the time I spend on organizing my inventory, setting up workshop, selling stuff, checking forum here, Bio break, ......

While games cut scenes are not top class, they are not so terrible either. For moment appreciate that one guy from studio who spend days and probably sleepless nights to make them.

As Plasticbat wrote, you spend that moent to do something else, maybe chanage music in playlist, check discord.

For people who like the RPG aspect of the game cutscenes and dialogue can be and should be a big part of the game. Especially the first time you play the quest. That being said, once a toon as seen it once there should be a way to skip it.

If it wasn't a cut scene it would be a grind. If there was nothing to watch I suspect we'd be locked in that instance killing the same ole things over and over for the same amount of time. At least with this you can multi task.

On the bright side, comparing with the other cut scene, this one is in the end. You basically can walk away and come back later. If the cut scene is in the front or in the middle, you will be forced to stick around. However, a way to skip it like the end cut scene of mote of virtue quest would be nice (that one you cannot multi-task though).

Or they could let the people who wish to skip it have that option. rather than forcing you to listen to the horrible writing and voice acting

The rationale is probably that the devs are shooting for a minimum run time for the weekly and they came up with this to equalize times regardless of player strength or numbers. It's also possible that they ran out of ideas or time to develop the quests. The weeklies have been pretty lazy since Barovia.

Here's a bad marketing idea: VIP rank 13.... grants you the ability to skip otherwise forced cutscenes

The Asmodeus memory shard, and the after insurgencies (Bel/Zariel) arguing... We should be able to skip that voice-over like we do with all NPCs who go on too long. It's the longest one ever in the game!!!

I don't know if it was done on purpose, by this story arc and cutscenes show well, how people with the best intentions can turn into hateful zealots. This topic is very current...

And yes, these cutscenes should be skippable.

Did they get rid of the ending cut scene in the patch?
