steam linking and multiple accounts

will you be able to link multiple accounts to the same steam or at least be able to switch between arc accounts??

two people use the computer at different times so its kind of inconvienient to have only one arc account useable.

    Is this mandatory? What if you do not use or want ARC or anything connected to it on your computer? Sorry but ARC is a very very intrusive program that more than likely has spyware malware in it. Just to post on here I was required to put in a pin that ARC sent to me so now this brand new computer has it's HAMSTER in it not happy.

    The PIN is part of the account protection. I'm assuming the necessity to link ARC and Steam has to do with the problem with Steam purchases.

    And yes, from the sound of the announcement, it is mandatory. Personally, I run from the resident .exe file and only fire up ARC if I want to charge or I have a code to redeem.

    Personally, I see no point to run steam or ARC to start NW. It is just pure waste of resource. The only 'contribution' is to record to steam how much time you spend on the game and when which itself is a great reason why I never start NW from steam.

    By the way, should 2 person have 2 steam accounts anyway?

    do we have confirmation its forced? ie a personal experience?

    I suppose you can have both steam and arc launcher installed on your PC. Use steam to log into your main arc account, and use the arc launcher to log into the other account.

    While it does waste system resources, I've found nothing at all that's "intrusive or malware" about it. I run a very tight firewall, so I'd know if it was sending information it shouldn't be. Take off the tinfoil hat, scroll to the top of this page, and note the name off to the left....you'll see "Arc".

    You don't ever need to use the Arc launcher...or even Steam for that matter. By the way...Steam is pretty much just as bad as Arc Launcher for what it is. Both are just bloatware.

    I cannot confirm that based on personal experience because I don't use steam or ARC to start NW.

    However, if you read the link I provided, it said:

    "Starting tomorrow, you’ll be required to link your Steam Account to your Arc Account."

    Is it forced (if you use steam to login to NW)?

    i'm not sure if it is forced or not that's why i'm asking. my family shares the computer and a steam account however we have different neverwinter accounts so our toons are separate from one another.

    I just don't want to lock anyone out

    You don't have to start Neverwinter using steam or ARC. Just start NW directly. I have been doing that for many years.

    Agree with plasticbat. Was using steam but then this linking came in yesterday. It asked for a 5 digit code that had been sent by email to link the accounts. The code never arrived in my email (not in junk mail by the way) so cannot use steam anyway now. Just as easy to launch directly from the neverwinter.exe file, bypassing Steam and Arc. Probably quicker as well.

    Im not sure where this topic went, yesterday i went through the linking of my steam to arc launcher, i was sent a pin, no problem. it worked fine a couple of times logging in I hit start in steam and it auto loaded everything. Now however as of this morning it gave me a downloading launcher box that scrolled a moment and then im back to before, i run from steam and still have to log in the launcher as if nothing had ever happened. Im fine with it either way just looking for information.

    What is the point of this?
    I have never needed to launch from both Arc and Steam, but the wording on the announcement page made it sound like that was what you had to do before this step.
    Today i was unable to launch Neverwinter without putting in a pin, which i assume linked the accounts.
    I ask again, what is the purpose of linking these accounts?
    What is it doing.
    What is it doing for me?
    What is it Doing too me?
    We were told it was going to happen 2 days before it was implemented but not why.
    The little Blurb page was rather uninformative and i am guessing asking Julia would just get me a link back to that uninformative page.
