Soulweaver's life Bind a suicidal feat?

Being a great supportive feat is also a suicidal feat that in many situations the warlock will end up dying to help the party stay alive; for example trobriand's ultimate attack is unavoidable, having 4 allies' 25% damage taken redirected to you is very chaotic; another example is ras sni' final attack if at least 1 soul missed.
This feat could be an awesome choice for 5 tier feat if it is a bit improved in my opinion, maybe having more than 80% hit points will resist all redirected damage, and below 80% hit points redirected damage is 100% deflected? It's just a suggestion, even though it's good to sacrifice oneself so the others stay alive, its still a risky move as they won't have heals at the last stand.

It looks like they tried to anticipate this issue, but the implementation was not successful. Obviously having it deactivate upon reaching a specific HP threshold isn't effective if the Warlock dies instantly, making a build including this feat suicide, as you say, in any fight where massive party-wide damage occurs in a single shot.

It could be a very cool, even class-defining feat if they could tweak it properly. Sharing party-buster damage would even be viable if the "transferred" damage were stored in the form of (unremovable) DoT stacks like the old Creeping Death capstone, allowing the Warlock a chance to recover.
