Estragon lord of how do I kill it?

this funny named guy ( estragon is spanish for "tarragon", the condiment) appeared out of nothing, no way to hurt him, killed all of us, and then, when we go from the fireplace to where he is, an impossible to pass barried blocked us, how do you overcome this spicy boss?
