Enchantment Exchange in PE binds unbound items

I can't fathom how an unbound item becomes bound when exchanging with the NPC. The mount insignias are not bound, nor the bonding runestones but the enchantments become bound. It's my fault for not seeing the fine print that item will be bound on exchange?

Please remove the binding aspect (and if possible unbind what I've bound).

Because you passed it through the exchange. This has been an ongoing debate for months.

So this is a technical debate? I assumed there's no difference between exchanging Enchantments like the Eldritch for Bonding or the Vigor and Leeching for Insignia Pack.

The difference is those you mentioned have absolutely no use. Hence, they are not bound vs those still have their usage (although you don't like them).

No, it was not a technical debate at all. It was a design debate. Dev decided to do it that way intentionally. People had argued about that decision for months.

The devs stated they could not create it where unbound was exchanged for unbound and bound for bound only. So as to prevent people from abusing the system they left it as bound.
People did complain on preview about this, but we lost that fight..just as we lost the scaling is screwed up right now fight.

All the more reason to just vote with your wallet. Don't like what they're doing? Stop buying Zen. Stop even grabbing it from the exchange (because if people can't sell their Zen for AD, they'll stop buying it). It's not like it's that useful anyway. Enchants are worthless now, because the new system makes it to where they, at best, contribute 40% or so of what they once did. At the absolute best.

Can't make unbound exchange for unbound...wow that's sad. They did it with the Eldritch trade-in for Runestones. Oh well, thanks for replies.

Note that even bound insignia of Vigor/Leeching and Eldritch will be exchanged for unbound items, but that's basically because those items are essentially useless now.

With the armor/weapon/regular enchants, it is more of a courtesy - people are exchanging less-useful items for those that suit the new requirements a bit better. You may be able to do a player-to-player trade to exchange unbound for unbound - the issue is that some enchantments, like Feytouched, Terror and silveries have dropped significantly in value and usability, so supply outweighs demand for those.

I expect the edlirch/insignia tabs to remain permanently, but the option to exchange regular enchants is temporary. will probably disappear in June.
    Hoping for improvements...
