I know Mirage is for PVP and Aboleth is for DPS, but is the difference that great? I read somewhere that the exploding and DoT didnt do much damage anyway, and its random which one you get - you might get lifesteal obviously - whereas you always get clones, even though they dont do much damage either.
Im thinking if the only significant difference is 1% damage, is it worth it? The reason I ask is because I seem to get mostly HAMSTER I dont want from Gyrion - I got like, 1 tainted soil from 6 runs, but I have 15 or so fleece already from farming IG for companion gear.
Also, if anyone has Mirage, is clones annoying? Having them jump around on the screen all the time might get old.
Do they at least distract mobs for a second or two before they get oneshotted or are they completely ignored in PVE? I can see they might help survivability a fraction if mobs take the time to swat them, as well as they might grant CA while your companion is down?

I have yet to get the other Weapons to test out... after getting the 1st I really could not be bothered to run another 35 times through another bosses lair. I may go back to it at some point and get some more weapons.
I am still stuck trying to get Psion's Shroud to drop from Prophecy, hundreds of runs I can do it with my eyes closed now I think lol.
Anyhoo you are being a little misleading in your post. Tainted Soil is 100% drop rate and always has been. If you ran it 6 times then you will have 6 of them. It drops straight in to your inventory when you kill Gyrion.
As for the Mirage's they seem to be ok, they are a distraction to enemies (in PvP) and sometimes GF's and TR's etc use up their hard hitting power on one by mistake. A good tactic is when fighting one of those classes to make sure you stick really close to your Mirage's to let them absorb the attacks.
I will be going for the Mirage set next and then maybe one of the others.

Ive found 3 deep knight brigandine, but no shrouds.
What kind of damage are you doing with the DoT and exploding creatures?
An army of me.
Will report back .. eventually.
I also have the Mirage Set now and put them in my bank, I am miles off getting all the resources needed to restore them as well.

Illusions take aggro from you as far as I can see (doing solo dungeons I've seen that when they pop up some mobs attack them instead of me) and they proc Careful attack with their hits. My main issue with them is that they die too fast. They should be invulnerable and disappear only at the end of the 10 secs buff period.

Do the illusions get irritating after a while? twice a minute, all those yous jumping around...
I was gonna go for the Aboleth weapons, bu I saw the Abolethic dance yesterday and now I'm not so sure I can put up with them.
> The best thing of the Mirage set is that it transforms you into a chicken for a few seconds if it procs when your health is really low. When you are a chicken you are unable to activate any power but you move like a rocket and are pretty much invulnerable.

> Not too sure where you are getting that effect from but it certainly isn't from the Mirage Set. No mention of it anywhere in the tooltips and I have never had it happen to my SW who uses the set all the time.

yes, the mirages do grant and receive CA (we all get sword icons on attacks). So I guess you get the extra +6% bonus from them, while they are up (assuming you also have companion up for 2%). Whether that is a straight up 6% damage boost, or +6%CA, Im not sure from the augment description, but either way, it seems BiS for soloing. Aboleth still best by a bees HAMSTER for elite groups.
They are stupid for ranged though. If you are at range and shooting, they will appear around you and slowly make their way to the target, using melee at wills on thin air until they get there. Seems like they attack more frequently when you attack. What would be much better is if they appeared just in front of you, between you and the target, and fired also, so they could tank return fire, but...meh.
Rough estimate, my clones are doing 1K attacks on dummies for a total of 20-40K over 10s. Just special effects basically, but I guess when soloing, they could tank a single hit for you, if you needed some space.
