pvp only really starts at level 50-59 -60-69 and 70
not many qs will pop at such low level and you out grow gear very fast and level fast
at level 21 you dont have all you powers feats and abilities yet ...
you do have like 171 post this should not be new to you ...

I clocked up over 2000 hrs on this game up till three years ago. I'm just returning, it NEVER used to be like this. There was ALWAYS matches from 10-60...if no one's playing pvp 10-60, maybe the best days of this game is over. I'm only interested in pvp...sad really, I did enjoy this game :(

How do you know what gear I've got? I have a perfect Vorpal, and all lvl 10 radiants.
And how do you get good pvp gear, if you don't play pvp from lvl10, and thus earn the currency to buy specialised pvp gear from the pvp vendor?

SO! I've spent the last 5ish days getting back into the game...wow, it's completely lost its pvp soul!

I lived for the pvp matches, mostly lvl10-60, I didn't do any of the pve AT ALL, because i didn't want to lvl up too quickly and loose the opportunity to play even more pvp matches...i was a little of the deep end :D

My character is now lvl22, and I've had TWO matches...I've been q'd for the last FOUR DAYS, and haven't gotten a single match!

So I went onto the pvp forum of arc...and...get this...they tried to tell me that "no one playes pvp before lvl50 because you don't have good gear or powers yet"!

I can't begin to tell you how dumb that is...but wait! YES I CAN :D

Fistly, there's a whole achievement/campaign line that's dedicated to achieving certain pvp goals, before lvl 60...and you can't possible earn the title "Domination Champion" if you don't play pvp till lvl 50

Secondly, you can't earn specialised pvp gear (for the lvl 10-60 campaign) if you don't play as soon as you reach lvl 60.

Third, even though your gear is (oddly enough) lvl appropriate and may not be 'powerful' at lvl 10, there is such a thing as ENCHANTMENTS...that's why I forked out hundreds of dollars (5yrs ago) on a complete set of lvl 10 radiants and a perfect vorpal.

The fact is, there aren't enough people playing any more, this games best days are definately behind it. Which I find quite sad, I really enjoyed this game in the day, I was hoping to get back to find it even better...its a shell of its former self :(

Were there actually other people in the matches you got to play?
I guess there might have been, since they did a mass ban on bots and botters a few days ago.
I faintly remember a post from a few months ago. I believe it was about the lowest tiers of PvP, and how surprised OP was about actually meeting another person in a match once.

Also: I believe most people who tried to enjoy PvP while leveling, at least new/new'ish players, had to give up on it, because of people like you, who put on high ranked enchants in low level PvP.

The game is relatively old. It is slowly withering, and this of course affects low level PvP.

Maybe... I don't know what you mean by 'people like you'... I played honestly, and payed for the right to do so. I see nothing wrong with that.

Well would you enjoy q'ing in low lvl pvp, with your little toon with spectacular +2 gear from storyline, and get into players like you with said Perfect Vorpal and rank 10 enchants ? That's lvl 70 gear, there is no match, you get stomped and you don't even understand what's going on because people at this lvl shouldn't have that stuff.
I mean you're not the worse type, i've seen lvl 20-29 players begging for people to q in pvp, and these players had Mulhorand set, with full rank 12 and trans. enchants.
And you wonder why low lvl don't q ? That, and yeah, also the fact that this is an old game and the pool of fresh players is small, rerolls usually try to get lvl 70 as quickly as possible to start playing the game.

its exactly why low level pvp is dead... because you want to go in all twinked out in your gear you forked out hundreds of dollars for ..

here is your problem lol and cryptics for allowing this hampster

and your enchantments are out of date anyways and the best pvp gear is crafted and in the auction house not at the pvp vendor anymore as of this mod . or you can get pvp gear with trade bars as well glory gear is also dead ...

also guild strongholds add thousands of stat points on people un balancing thingsmore

    Four points:
#1: You rejoined immediately after a massive wave of bans targeting bots. *A lot* (not all!) of the low-level PVP players were bots.
#2: A large number of PVP-loving players were banned along with the bots last week and are not back yet.
#3: Without the bots, most people don't play low-level PVP because they run into high-geared alts of high-tier PVP players.
#4: Low-level PVP is completely unnecessary. The rewards are OK, but not great. The PVP campaign is the same for low-level players and high-level ones, and your accomplishments carry over. There's nothing you *can* do in the low-level PVP that you can't do in high. And the currency you're grinding for in low-level PVP? Is not really that hard to earn in high, and pretty-decent high-level PVP gear is dirt cheap. the Warborn set and the Company sets, in particular, are excellent and cost next to nothing. Prestige is better, Titansteel is currently best (IIRC) but Warborn or Company will let you compete, and you don't need a single bit of Glory for either set.

I'm sorry to disagree. Respectfully, that was how the game was made. I didn't set up the rules, I played the game as was presented to me. I agree that it must be beyond frustrating for free-players to play a game under these conditions, but don't blame 'people like me'. Blame PW.

I was actually thinking about this problem last night. And I was wondering at the rational of PW in this situation. On the one hand you have people crying out for more balance in 10-60pvp, on the other hand you have people who are prepared to pay-to-win.

I can only compare what my experience was three years ago, with what I find today. If the objective of PW is to get more people to play, get them more involved, then I would have to say that the P2W model is better. Why? Well, the answer is simple, you had a thriving, vibrant game that had people q'd up ready to PVP all day and night! Not only that, but you were making hundreds-and-thousands of dollars/day from these people who would pay for pleasure to do so.

And now I compare it to today. No-one playing...empty q's, no-one spending money on zen/ad... No guilds fighing (in a good way) against each other, actively playing the whole game to get even better gear to take back to the pvp arena.

I walked through Protector's Enclave last night as a sort of farewell... From Sg Knox down to Boo. I decided to count how many other players I saw...5!

    :(

What he means is that some time ago PvP form lvl 10 - lvl 60 was mostly bots. Programs that would run a toon from the spawm to node one to node two to node one to node two.... ad nauseum. This was the only way that most PUGs got any kills at all, sibce level 70 turned into a PUG stomping nightmare.

You know...I've played over 2000hrs of this game (a little excessive I know  ) And in all my time, and it was ALL my time, in the pvp 10-60 arena, I can honestly say that I may have encountered a bot of two, but never to the lvl that I can actually recall a specific instance, never to the lvl that it caused me to really take notice of them.

Maybe it was because pvp was so guild oriented then. I was heavily envolved in NerdRage, and we were always 'grouped' and played vs other guilds who were likewise 'grouped'.

"blame PW." But people don't blame PerfectWorld, & why would they? PerfectWorld isn't the one stomping them... you are. And since you missed three years, here is a summary. The game hit an unpopular Mod (mod 6) and many players left. As players left the game, the PvP matchmaking system became less relevant due to low population. . Queue time skyrocketed to 90+ minutes. The devs turned off the matchmaking system, & now we have a PvP system that is almost all pre-made vs. PUG. No one is happy with it, but that is the way it stands.

I think you misunderstood what I meant by 'Blame PW', I didn't mean it in the sense that they or anybody did something wrong. I meant, do you blame the person who came up with the rules for Chess, when you loose? It's just the rules of the game. The rules of NW allow, I might argue even encourage, that those who can afford to, do actually P2W.

I see nothing wrong with that...it's just the rules.

right but at a certain point having like 10 Queens on the board becomes a little rediculous even if you know the rules of the game and the board ..
and the gap so large with campaigns and boons to catch up that it becomes impossible to even moderately compete even if you pay to win you still have to grind tons of boons and need a pve gear set and a pvp gear set and and mounts and insignia bonuses too lol oh and dont forget tenacity rings oh and you will need to grind the 50k hitpoint armor too in pve for pvp lol make sure to have like 230k hitpoints to 300k for tank classes if not mr Tr will one shot you

dude you have been gone a while you will see how under geared you are when you get vaporized in level 70 pvp with your little rank 10s and regular vorpal lol so time to cough up zen since you said you could afford to you have quite the shopping list to get ..

you wanna pay 500 us dollars for a mount to compete in pvp go ahead lol

by the way im pretty much best in slot with everything just playing devils advocate here
was at the top of the leader board 2 mods ago then competition dried out no one left to fight at my level cw anymore
just waiting for the new pvp crafted gear to come down in price a bit

we have been advocating for solo q premade lobbies and more balanced pvp
they finally fixed items levels more or less and added dual spec so its easier to switch pvp pve mode

I guess I just enjoyed the 10-60 scene...no particular reason, just my thing I guess.
