Healing Font: Does it only heal one ally and chain?

I've tried it out to see what it does. It didn't look like it actually did anything. Any clarification on what it actually does would be appreciated.

    What this daily does is a puts out a heal to a injured ally(companion included) and after healing them it chains to a different ally(companion still included). It only heals one target at a time over 40 seconds. Now I recommend forgetting that this daily even exists, and slot Shield of Faith/Divine Judgement or Lay of Hands. However lay of hands is also kinda useless but well its much better than Healing font.

    Thanks. I thought that a font would work like, you know, a fountain. It sucks. I had been slotting Shield of Faith and Divine Justice. I will just stick with that....
