Why does Longstriders shot work this way?

Why do i have to be 30 feet so that i can get a 40% dmg buff that lasts 5 sec while gwfs can get this buff much easier by using hidden daggers? This skill is too much of a gimmick to me. And yes i know that a lot of HR's praise this skill but still.....if youre not 30 feet away and activate it, it just turns into another mediocre single target dps skill. Is there any reason why the "be 30 feet away from your target" restriction should stay on this skill?

This is just my opinion and if i get booed, i understand.

Long strider requires some effort, which could actually be the most fun part of this power.

Are you chasing the best paingiver? By the way, hidden dagger is only a self buff. Long strider is for all ally. Which is better?

It just takes some awareness to use Longstrider's effectively. You will get the buff by hitting any target 30' or more away regardless if you're fighting toe-to-toe with another mob. When I use it with Combat spec I will pivot away from the mob I'm fighting to look for a target further away and fire it off and then go back to fighting the mob I was busy with. Of course this only works if there are other mobs in the vicinity otherwise you only have one option and that is to drop 30' away and fire it off before jumping back into the fray. The speed boost does help some in that regard.

It's just huge utility. It buffs basically everyone on screen. Amazing in HEs, DF, tiamat, heralds, demo etc. you name it.

Two hops back, two hops in, 4 seconds left.
