    @jonkoca is fair getting stuck w 3 other players like your toons you brought in w zero gear and enchants sounds like a grand time. Can't wait till it makes it to console.

    That's not weird, they most likely haven't changed the fundamentals of how their matchmaking works for this. From empirical evidence, it seems to work like this: When you queue, it looks for players that are similar to you in terms of rating/gear to form a team, then it looks for other teams to match against, matching up against the best possible team it finds. This is why matches in the normal queue frequently end up with five 4ks against five 2ks even if there are no premade groups involved.

    Their system is basically designed to work with a larger player base, and would be fine if activity levels were as they were during module 1-5 or so, but they've been sort of hollowing out the PvP player base with increasing imbalances in gear. An event like the solo queue might get enough additional people to queue that it produces better matches, but the fundamentals that can produce highly lopsided matches are still present.

    So basically, expect to still see lopsided matches with the solo queue.

    Ideally, they should add a function to their queue system for the solo queue which is basically that if teams are too far apart in terms of their average rating, the teams should be scrambled to produce a more balanced match before the match begins.

    I was banging my head against the wall yesterday on my TR and GF, cause out of the ca. 10 matches i did with them, my party was mostly 2K+/- people, some with only 1(!) green artifact and at the time i have played, my enemies were a premade, 4,2K+, nearly all with lions. This shows that matchmaking is utterly broken.

    How pathetic is it form some BiS PVP guilds to run premades in solo and stump all the fresh players, they can be really "proud" of themselves.

    STILL i would say keep SOLO Q dear Devs, it is the best way to revitalize PVP again, BUT please start adding brackets to solo, also remove all the boons and toys (mounts, insignias, etc.) from solo please. Currently 1(!) BiS PVP guilder can destroy the entire enemy team with his lion and SH boons. Oh yes and please make it TRULY SOLO, as some above me have already suggested, enough of baby sitting premades in solo PVP.

    Let people use their mounts and boons they worked hard or payed alot for them. Just make the teams truly randomized and change the algorithm or something so it doesn't prioritize friends or guild mates to match you with on your team. If they can do that it would be amazing. #cantwaituntilthiscomesoutonxbox

    So far I like it, sometimes I end up against a queue sync group - but that can be prevented by a random split.
    With the Warborn set in TTB store the matches are not that bad for beginners and restarters as it was before.
    Sure there are cases when we or the opponent has a geared/experienced PvP player that determines the outcome of the match, but way less leavers and 700:0 matches than normally. On the third and fourth day most of my matches were pretty close ones.
    I was also lucky enough to be able to beat a queue synced premade with a randomly assembled party, because as it looks like lots of good PvP players started to queue up on a just for fun basis.
    Sure solo queue is not a magic cure, but a refreshing soft drink imo.

    After ~60 solo queues here's my 2 pennies.

    This was the best thing devs done for this game for a long time, maybe it doesn't solve fundamental flaws of the system but brought a long time forgoten factor, FUN to the pvp.

    I saw many matches with 2-2.5k's last way much longer cause people actually was fighting instead of getting stomped and just wait in the fire, there was enough time to talk to team and arrange new strategies or explain things to new ones and everyone had a chance to a full rotation of their powers and see what the whole damn thing is about.
    There was a chance for all to win, regardless the eventual fact that you'll meet some bad teamates or better enemies in terms of skill or gear, 90% of the time people had an easier and more rewarding experience instead of wait in the fire.

    If it is fun and brings more players to the game then +1 from me.

    only 1 or 2 matches about 10 end in GG, gear gap is still an issue, item level should be a requirement cuz solo queue right now is a place to farm kills, so remove the kills/deaths from leaderboard.

    BIS "lion" dudes one shot pve ppl, thats the next step to solve.

    The problem is that 4ks can just queue in the NORMAL queue. Why destroy the event for the lowbies?

    2 reasons... first, easy kills to pad the PvP campaign score. Most of the groups I've been in have gone the distance fighting the whole way. I haven't seen a "GG'' yet.

    Second, I think some PvP guilds, or @ least, the players that are behind the troll-made mentality, are trying to sabotage the chance of solo queue being made permanent. "Look, you had this solo queue thing & nuffik changed... obviously it won't work. Now give us PM queue!"

    I don't think that they considered the possibility that one of the things that the devs are looking for is to see if the PvP guilds can police themselves, or if the devs are gonna hafta install a tier system on the solo queue, if it become permanent. Heh.

    Say whatever you want about Neverwinter PVP but one thing's for sure. That stuff will be remembered by those who participated over the years. Heck its the most memorable of all the games Ive played even tho Ive had my fair share of moments that make you go:



    The solo queue should stay. As I expected its definitely not the cure for PVP but it is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise very stagnant atmosphere

    Same boat you are. Don't fit with pre-made crowd, love to PVP. Opponents likely to have a 4K, I can help my team. And soloing even as a 4K is worthless against a 5 man pre-made.

    While the solo queue helps. The issue is still balance. We need an ELO by character / account. This is a solved problem, go try any major pvp game and you will find a player skill rating system.

    same boat as Santralafax and Rayrdan all pvp 4k with gear that was grinded for and over a 1000 pvp matches. but no PVP guild boons or leg mount. I can do good for a team but cant win VS the lions and 200k hp players with boost from boons. I take a lot of punishment for the team when I play, I play to win. I die a lot because if I am the better player on my team I take responsibility in holding and taking nodes.

    All I ask is on solo Que do away with kick vote after score hits 300 to any thing. The teams are vote kicking what they call pug trash when they land in a game where it looks like they are out matched. I have had several matches where I end up facing 3 bis vs us when to start with match was very even @ 600 to 625 and saw 5 or 6 changes in other team from just 2 original players. This is now becoming the work around for losing teams is keep kicking til get friends or the team you want. it was this way several matches Sunday morning Eastern US time if Developers want to see example I can give them the match day and time

    I've had alliance people asking if it was possible they got kicked because one second they were in a match and the next they were looking at a load screen.

    today i initiated vote kick. that guys has 0 score after 4 minutes, always "fight" out of node.

    the last straw was when node 1 was red and occupied by one blue and one red. he was outside of node. i tell him go to node. he dont. he was kicked....

    So many recognized names popping back in to make their presence known. I have been in so many great matches and so many suck HAMSTER matches.
    When I do face lowbie groups, which is rarely, they all gang up on me to kill me. If they have an HR in the group I am dead. I like the challenge and I feel as though I am training future PvP badasses.

    Seconded. The 2 or 3 matches I got kicked from this weekend were the ones where my team had representatives of the "Big-boy"
    guilds that normally run together, & the score was close to even. When I polled my teammates after the match, the responses I got were " Heh heh heh, sorry dudebro, I can't lose to "XYZ" guild! Don't worry, you can just queue up again." BTW... the games I got kicked from... my team lost.

    Ditto, I hate vote kick, because it's distracting, and unless the guy's a bot, I think it's unfair.

    So postmitigation, and then halved again by the feat itself..? Yeeeeahhh, hey everyone, back to the trapper permastun build again. Would you prefer that..? And, hmm, you could just get used to moving out of the big red nasty circle you know.

    See also, the return of immortal DCs and OPs and unkillable GFs, without a handy HR on your team to help burn them down...
    No idea what my toon is now.

    However rangers don't kill good tanks with piercing alone, they kill them with cc + AUTO PROCcing piercing. My pally also doesn't care for rangers unless outnumbered on a node. But you know my actual gripe is the way piercing blade is applied. Like you said the "big red nasty circle". The fact that its a 'fire and forget' ability is what takes it over the top. They place it down and focus on defensives, cc or other attacks while happily dealing automatic damage to you. Not to mention they can completely ignore stacking a very important pvp stat - Armor Pen. I've seen a bis HR who shall remain unnamed with 1500 arm pen rating in PVP! Still killing people left and right while enjoying massive hp, massive deflect and DR on par with my GF. Is that the balance you are looking for? To have a striker build defensively, have 30-40k power in pvp and still melt everything cause of trigger happy auto procs? Nope, its not good. Once in the past we were in this same situaton and it got nerfed, so it will happen again.

    PS: everyone with a brain and a grasp on their ego should want balance in pvp, real class balance. Since thats practically impossible in Neverwinter we at least should try not to advocate extremely broken things. Lets stick with mildly broken things instead.

    PS2: Since I mentioned my pally(3.4 in pvp) I'll use him as an example. A Paladin, esp protection can be nearly immortal 1x1 even 1x2/3/4 unless heavy cc is present - unfair? IMO its not unfair when it comes with a tradeoff and a big one at that. I cant burst anything my item level and even below my IL. If another guy decides to stay and trade blows with me I could kill him in a long, boring battle IF he doesnt heal. So, going into PVP as an "immortal" Pally really turns me into a 1 trick pony that any pvp savvy people cant outrotate and even kill. Ya all it takes is one well placed cc and bye bye immortal pally when up against coordinated attack.

    In summary: Binding Oath is a mildly broken pvp ability. It makes a paladin very hard to kill however at the same time he is unable to do much else but defend a node vs 1 person...

    1 - Seems like you weren't playing the game at mod4... nice to know. :smile:

    2 - Where? I said that it should work as "Shadowy Oportunity": Dealing blunt weapon damage instead of HR's damage.

    3 - which can be countered via Elven...

    I agree a bit Hunter is the " TR from" mod 5 atm, there is a small option taking wards 10% protection helps a bit

    @clonkyo1, I only play HR, I have alts, but wouldn't say I'm exactly expert in using them, despite playing since mod 2. And, I'm not going to try score points off you in forum posts, because sad.

    You realise the devs gave the HR piercing in combat because it's the only way to give us teeth in PvP, whilst not making us ridiculously overpowered in PVE..? The only other way would have been another complete overhaul of the three feat trees, and encounters. So, not going to happen.

    Definitely right now, the 4k plus combat HRs are lethal, but is that because the mechanic itself is broke, or that their item level magnifies the effects..? If you get one rotated by a 2k HR, then it's the mechanic, if not, then it's the item level.

    No idea what my toon is now.

    I will say that in the very few matches I've queued for, my CW starting from 0 in all Domination achievements has made a startling amount of progress. Lots of capping and lots of assists. That actually makes me regret not making a point of more participation.

    nice matches today...
    i don't mind 4k + people queuing with us, as long as they get split equally amongst both teams...
    if teams are basically balanced, there is opportunity for mid and low geared players to contribute...
    we can fit in
