Hit 70, what to do now exactly

orlando#7905 orlando Member Posts: 3 Arc User
Hi,

i hit Level 70 with my rogue yesterday and im trying some of the content that opened up now.
Unfortunately, i quite often get my a** handled to me by the enemy groups there.
I have played the quests for Bruenor and i have started some of the campaigns (Dragoncult, Maze Engine, Elemental Evil)
I have an item level around 1800ish, but just the basic artifact stuff... i seriously need a better weapon, almost all
players i meet do a lot ... A LOT .. more damage than i do...

Because of time restrictions and because i have a small kid, i dont play in a group often, i play mostly solo.
I can do some pickup groups for dungeons though.

Could someone give me some hints on what to do first? Epic dungeons? Campaigns? Which one first?

Thanks in advance :)

Make your campaigns your "must do" each day when you play.. yes in many cases it will be like work instead of fun but they are cheap and easy stats. Grab as many Demon HE's as you can to get some Drowcraft armor or if you have tarmalune bars a combination of Drowcraft and Dusk armor.. this will get you much better armor without having to pug so much in dungeons. Dread Ring seems to be the easiest "70" level zone to me with IWD and WOD being at the top.. Sharandar is not bad either.

Something to consider is to change to Scoundrel, if you are not already, until you get more boons and better equipment, then change back. I am a scoundrel and while I don't mow down mobs, staying alive is not a problem at all.

Campaigns are mostly solo content. I like the maze engine one most. Dread ring and sharandar are easier than others. I suggest that you can rotate your campaigns (daily) in different zones so that the content is fresh for you.

For group content, try Kessel and epic shore of tuern first. Then you could start try some t1 dungeons.

I unstand the big damage difference you observed between new 70 and already geared ones. First thing you need to do is to get your armor penetration high enough, like 5k+. There are many other stuff. You can check the BIS oriented guides for your class in this forum. You will not get as good gear as they are, but you can see some directions to improve your characters.

    Thanks for your answers :)

I have still a few questions...
    - what is Demon HE ... i use the german game client, so i can only guess abbreviations
    - 1 have one "Protection of ..." well the coin that guarantees you a successful enchantment... which shard should i try for?
    - I checked the items you can get from sharandar and ring... those are mostly blue and Level 60... i find that strange, given that
those campaigns start at level 70, what have i missed?
    - could you give me a hint what the speciality of scoundrel is, since my client has different names. I picked the middle one, where the enemies are often stunned by my attacks
    - How can i join "epic shore of tuern"... its not in my list of joinable content (not even in the locked state)
    - is the roque a weak char for doing level 70 content solo... ?

I know, a lot of people claim this game is too easy, and while i found this true for the leveling phase, i find soloing level 70 content as fresh level 70 char to be very frustrating. Perhaps thats only because i still play the dragon campaign... but that campain is the first one to start at level 26 so i thought its the logical choice to "finish" it first

dragon one starts first but is the most challenging besides icewind dale.
sharandar and dread ring being way easier - try doing the essencial quests in those as the progress there is limited per day.

campaigns are there only for the boons (dunno how boons are named in the de version - the things giving like 400stats and percent crit and so on) and fashion. aka daily grind to get more stats.

save the blue coin (in en-us it is named c.ward or coalescent ward ) for a bigger enchant imo get lesser enchant for ~150k from the auctionhause or 2 of them as of for wich one check your class forums for some suggestions on builds.
eexampl: medium enchant requires 2 lesser and a c.ward and costs 600k and 2 lesser cost 300k so you get a 300k saving for using your c.ward on 2 lesser ones. instead of 150k saving.

Join a guild there are even some german guilds in the game looking for members and it can enritch both your gameplay experience and your stats.(stupid thing but being in a strong guild can give more stats than your entire gear combined)

Final thing - most fun thing in the game is actually leveling up so if you find the everyday grind borring roll a alt.

also do two dungeons ( temple of the spider) and 2 skirmishes (prophecy of madness) for AD and rings

get yourself some cheap duskboots and dusk shirt/pants in 1-2 days (15k AD from the daily dungeon, skirmish ) from the auctionhause

if you like the game get a month of vip and from the t.bars you get by opening boxes with the free key get another dusk part of the set for the 1000 power bonus.

sorry posting from mobile text looks horrible

Thanks all for the answers. :) Those are very helpful...

I think i will alternate between playing an alt and grinding a bit.. since i get bored by grind relativeley fast... i usually skip those slow things entirely, which says a lot about Neverwinter... even on max level, it has some engaging stories to tell, so i'll stay for a while and listen...

As for the answers... i already have dusk armor... i thought it would help more. I do the level 70 Missions for the dragon campaign since my char was 60, by thinning the ranks and dying a lot (no idea why the designers set those missions to
70 even if youre lower level), and i thought it would be better when im 70 myself, but now the enemies are 73 and the groups are even harder.

    Have fun all :)

Niadan, is right. Find a guild that doesn't require you to lots. -Valor- is great. :)
