Hi all
Started the game 2 weeks ago, and have been enjoying everything about it with my paladin.
As i hit level 70 last week, and experimented a bit, i realise i'll have to respec sooner or later to be able to stand as a real tank.
As the game has been around for quite some time now, it's quite overwhelming to figure out what and how to do things, and was hopping to get a few answers to important questions
For the feat points :
- As a human, i have more heroic feat than i care about ... should i take light's shield ?
- What about Impassioned Pleas ?
- I'm leaning towards "Justice", because Light doesnt seem interesting for a tank, and Bulkwark seems underwhelming "on paper". Should i stay focus on Justice for a tank ?
- In justice, Swift flash, Flash of light and Radiant champion seems like no brainers compared to the lower side branch. Am i missing something ?
- Echoes of light versus Beacon of hope : while i like the occasional proc on echoes of light, Beacon of hope seems nice. What should i choose ?
- I read Prism was bugged, and also that it's a great power ... should i get it or stay away from it ?
- If i go justice, is there a better way to spend the last 15 points in light for aura gifts ?
For the powers :
- Radiant strike is a no brainer for my right click move. What about my main attack ? i really like the shield of protector strike, but doesnt seem to be the main at will used by my senior paladin collegues. What should i do ?
- I dont see myself removing Binding oath and templar's wrath from my action bar. But what about my third power ? currently i use relentless avenger, because it seems like it's my only way to keep aggro on me ... but i hate KBs, and DPS must curse my name on 7 generation for sending their preys flying. What should i use for aggro gain/keeping ?
- Any tips for building threat ? seems like my divine call doesnt do anything in this regard ... am i missing something ?
- Is there a cap on the number of temp HP i can gain with templar's wrath ?
- For Daily, i have obviously Divine Protector, but what should i take as a second daily ? (should i care ?
)
For the Gear :
- I have the full set buyable with elemental seals (2000 something IL). What do i do with my seals now ?
- Currently, i have the cleric sigil in main artifact, with pally, lantern and the helm you get from the quest chain at level 60 as secondary. What artifact should i target ?
- For neck and waist, what should i look for ? Some people say Lathander set is what i should get, but i also read the constitution belt is great, pairing it with an ap gain neck. Last option would be non artifact neck+ cloak as they have "good" enchant slots. What should i look for ?
- Lots of guide say recovery is our main stat, but with a haste cleric always at hand, would it be that important to keep a lot of recovery ?
- Should i completly ditch defense in favour of HP ?
- I've read somewhere pally should enchant full HP and full Power. Wouldnt it be interesting to get the other enchants that give multiple stats (like draconic in offense, or brutal in defense) ?
- What weapon and armor enchant should i look for ?
- My ressources are very limited (i wont be able to put more than 5/10 euros per month in the game) also, what should be my priority list for gearing up ?
For my companion :
- I only have the 2 gold companions. What should be my first acquisition ? Ioun stone or a Zhentarim Warlock ?
- do you gain IL by gearing up your companions ?
That's a lot of questions
I hope vets will be able to answer some of them
Any advice will be appreciated, especially in regards to the strategy to gearing up

This is what I did for my paladin and it worked out okay. I took the Justice paragon and I'm having a great time with it.
1- Focus on getting to 60% Resistance Ignored (around 6.5k Armor Pen)
2- Stack recovery in offense slots and hit points in defense slots)- at least to start out with after your RI
3- Get an artifact cloak with action point gain and Armor pen on it (Either Lostmauth's hoard necklace or Black Ice necklace) this will help your daily powers recharge faster. (Divine protector and/or Shield of Faith)
4- Get a belt with constitution on it. (Greater belt of con works well).
5. Focus on getting power/recovery/defense on your gear pieces. Some crit is nice but It's up to you. I'm not really using crit much at all anymore.
6. Level DC artifact to as high as possible.
7. Black ice beholder is nice (Arp and Recovery) and it's not crazy expensive. I managed to get mine to drop from Kessels Retreat Skirmish while I was running it for black ice to upgrade my gear.
I took the feat in the light tree that helps with getting more defense from equipment (Warrior's Bastion) along with some self healing and focused my defensive slots on getting more max hit points. When using aura of courage- that helps out with more damage for you and your party. Aura of wisdom can really help out when you're trying to get enough recovery to get your Action point gain up and your encounter cooldowns lowered without having to rely so heavily on your divine call from the justice capstone.
There is more than one way to build a paladin tank- best of luck to you.

I'll never retrace my steps.
Some of my best friends are Imaginary.
Pally gear has next to no ArPen at all, and dark enchants and artifacts only go so far.
Seems like arpen is the way to go for gearing, but so is recovery ...
Would using dragon enchants be a good idea ? They're "cheap" and gives arpen, recov and power in offense slot, everything we need ?
One last question, i have a respec available, keeping it until i'm sure on my template. I'm still strugling to chose between Echoes of light and Beacon of Hope. Anyone has an informed opinion on this choice ?
I've read impassioned pleas is bugged ... is it still the case ? Generating more divine call energy seems great, can't get enought of it
