Now Mounts that add to stats............

Someone was posting in zone chat that there is going to be mounts that add stats like 4000 Armor pen, in the future, making our current epic mounts............ well s hit, paying for 4000 Armor pen mount will be a must if you want to be competitive in pvp, now with every new mod this games becomes more pay to win. Really this is unfair to say the least, i just wish i never ducked other games in favour of Neverwinter, but then again i feel like i,ve put to much time and money just to give up.

To be fair PC has had these mounts since Neverwinter came to Xbox so if you didn't know they were coming, you weren't paying attention.

A lot of lazy gamers (not saying you are one of them, OP) are busy lamenting the Leadership changes etc. claiming there is no way to make AD anymore and the game is pay-to-win, but really they just redesigned the way players earn AD and made it so it is rewarded for actual play and not just for logging on. I only get to play a couple hours a day during the week but my main character's rough AD continues to climb despite passing all my Bind-to-Account items over to other characters for even more quick AD. Don't get pissed, get smart! Start saving for your future awesome mount today and you'll have no trouble affording one when they come to Xbox... without paying real life monies. I for one am sick of staring at the ugly-HAMSTER horse I bought the first week and can't wait to get something different, and more useful, to ride around!

Check out the campaign dailies and what they reward, especially the lairs! Also try a few Icewind Dale or Well of Dragons heroic encounters. Feels to me like they're throwing refinement points at me left and right! We all miss Spellplague and the age of the Dragon's Hordes but it's really not as doom-and-gloom as some might think, unless your heart is set on Mythic. :-P

I thought mounts were basically for appearance reasons. I mean, as a girl, that's what my idea of them are. I'm holding out for the Dusk Unicorn because... well, it's a freaking Unicorn and it's purple and... whatever, either way, I can't afford to be spending real money constantly to get better stats and get a better character.

Will there be added stats to current mounts or is it just new ones? If so, will be like companions, is there some sort of "Active" stat and section?

Now with the lack of AD's (Salvaging at the moment doesn't seem to give you much), and if the exchange does rise to something like 500AD = 1Zen like the PC then it'll be difficult for someone like me to actually progress.

But at least all the loot is actually Bound to Account so if you have various characters you could actually make a nice amount at the end of the week.

The game isn't pay-to-win but I'm seeing trouble ahead.

Honestly, a mount which adds more ArPen stats than a 5 rank 12 dark enchantments altogether sounds terribly unbalanced. It surely makes all our current mounts obsolete and gives something to grind for...

Just seems a tad on the dumb side. Summon your mounts? While my BadA** polar bear just disappears in a puff of toots in combat. Seems rather unnecessary to have in game. So my 3500 zen I saved up for that damn polar bear nets me a mount that will be seen as obsolete in PvP seems silly.

These mounts are coming to XB1, most likely without any changes at all, the (Coastal) Flail Snail from the Crushing Wave lockbox gives you a bonus to AP when you use a Daily and the (Armored) Giant Strider from Eternal Flame gives you +4000 movement...
So pretty much yes, the old mounts will be meh, and in PvP the new one will be a significant advantage to own, and disadvantage to want ..

Soooooo, how about a new mount that gives 30% of weapon damage as poison on all encounter-powers (50% with a 3-piece set)...
