Only 280 AD drop rate in dungeon after patch

blureelblureel Member Posts: 163 Arc User
So we're supposed to have a cap of 7200 AD per day on top of the bonus for the first 2 runs.

I ran dungeons 5 times today after the patch. The first 2 runs went as they described - I got my 3000 bonus AD automatically. But the next 3 runs I only got 280 AD...automatically. Nothing else on the ground. I was under the impression that the drop rate would be variable until will hit the daily cap of 7200AD. The third run was done a half a day later.

If the drop rate is going to be fixed at 280 AD then we will never hit our daily cap since it would require running 26 dungeons.

Has anyone else been getting the same results?

You were lucky, I got 3k+ from 1st dungeon, 2nd was 173 AD also 3rd, didn't do more.

its supposed to be variable but doesn't seem to be...needs to be increased anyway..

I'm pretty sure the variation is based on which dungeon you run: so that eToS should give you more than nToS.

I haven't run enough dungeons yet to figure out what the "bonus" AD amounts are for each dungeon, but I get 173 rAD in nToS.

Did you write down how much rAD you had before entering the dungeon and compare with leaving the dungeon?
The rAD drops directly to your wallet.

Also, check the log window. The loot drops show up by default in green text and is easy to spot. The automatic loot given is shown write before the log entry for deleting the boss as far as I've seen.

I haven't tried the epic dungeons yet. PUGs don't interest me there lol. But in the regular CC I'm getting the 3000 rAD for the first 2 runs and 280 rAD for the rest of the runs.

Prior to the patch, I was getting a different amount of rAD on each run ranging from 0 to 4000 rAD. This includes my VIP bonus and in the logs it was multiple entries per run (e.g. 1000, 85, 150, 1000, 85, 150 all in one run). Now it's 1 entry. 3000 in the first 2 runs. 280 in any subsequent runs.

I guess the moral is just run dungeons twice, then do 2 skirmishes for optimal rAD gain. Add pvp to taste.

Edit: As for the rewards from different dungeons: I get (3000 + bonus) * 1.15 because I'm VIP. Factoring out the 15% VIP bonus and the 3000 rAD reward for the first two runs I get the following bonus values:

    --nToS: 150 rAD
    --eLoL: 400 rAD
    --eToS: 550 rAD

I would be interested in hearing values for other dungeons.

It's called finding out if this is in fact a bug, first by asking other players if they are getting the same experience and confirming an actual pattern and then, going to the bug section and submitting an "actionable" bug report as opposed to just "whining" about something not working and crying for cryptic to just fix it along with the billion other things they need to fix from all the other people whining about how they're play doesn't work...anymore...like it used to...or like how they want it to...blah blah blah

    But, I digress.

The real point here is that this may NOT be a bug and may be intentional because Cryptic seems to be so intent on stopping everyone from creating mass rAD of any kind recently.

Hence, the NEED for discussion to create AWARENESS of this potential new and undocumented rAD nerf.

It resets at 12:00 GMT + 1, like everything else. Never had a problem so far.

I had zero rAD after finishing the dungeon.

Just check the logs in the chat window. It will state how much you've got. I've got 4200 something and 3900 something today for etos and elol

The questions is NOT about the first 2 runs. It's about the runs after those two. How much are you getting? I'm getting only 280 rAD and the cap is 7200 rAD. That means we would have to run the dungeons 26 more times in order to cap if this is what everyone is getting or averaging for the runs AFTER the first 2 runs.

In his post on Astral Diamond Changes, Scott explicitly stated:
    1. Automatically get 3,000 AD for each of the first two dungeons. 2. In addition, get 150 to 750 AD for each dungeon played (up to a maximum 7,200 AD per day from dungeons). Amount varies by time.
So it can take between 10 to 48 runs to max out rAD from dungeons, depending on which ones you run. Run nToS 48 times, or (presumably) eCC 10 times.

Don't forget, each epic dungeon run should also net you 1 or more pieces of salvageable gear worth 3k - 5k rAD, as well as a chance at AH-worthy artifacts, etc., and seals you can turn into salvageable gear after you have outfitted all your alts.

I find running 3 epic dungeons nearly reaches or even exceeds the daily rAD limit, including salvaging and the 3k rAD I get from invoking. If I want a little more rAD, I just run 2 skirmishes.

Yes, that is what scott said and that is what was happening prior to the last patch. After the patch, I was only getting 280 rAD every run after the first 2 runs. How many times do I have to explain this?

I want to confirm that I'm the only one that just had a bad run of "luck" or that other players are also having the same experience after the patch.

Prior to the patch, I capped 7200 rAD within 5 runs on average. Now that's not possible.

    Which dungeons are you running?

I get 150 bonus rAD in nToS, 400 in eLoL, 550 in eToS (plus 15% for VIP).

I ran nCC when I noticed this pattern.

I'm only getting 280 with the VIP bonus after finishing the first 2 runs. First 2 runs got the 3000+ each with VIP bonus. The third run got 280. The fourth run got 280. I waited 6 hours. The fifth run got 280. No randomness in the drop rate even after a 6 hour break. This feels like the variable drop rate is gone. Whether it's broken or intentional is my question assuming everyone else is noticing the same thing. So I'm trying to see if other players are experiencing this "issue".

I will try again this weekend and see if another day makes a difference.

It's not an issue, it's working correctly.

I don't know why you're expecting randomness. The first two times you get 3000 + a set bonus for that dungeon (times 1.15 if you have VIP). Any runs after you only get the set bonus for that dungeon.

When goatshark said "Amount varies by time" I'm pretty sure he meant by the expected time to complete the dungeon -- so the epic dungeons give you a larger bonus than the normal ones. BUT, the bonus amount for a given dungeon is constant.

Except it wasn't that way before the patch. The amount received varied with each run. One run I got 1500. Another run I got 184. Another run I got 2000. After the patch, it's 280 all the time.

Your interpretation is nice, but it's just that - an interpretation. I prefer to get clarity from a Dev one way or the other.

Also, we know the eCC takes longer to finish than nCC, but Cryptic says, both them are estimated to take 30min to complete. Valindra's Tower is 45 min. So, how is Scott delineating how long each dungeon takes to complete? And therefore setting the amount of rAD per dungeon run?
  • blureelblureel Member Posts: 163 Arc User
Ok. I finally was able to run an epic CC and confirmed that I got 805 rAD which is different than the 280 rAD that I was getting from the nCC.

It would appear then that darkstarcrash's interpretation is correct. Thank you.

OK people the "set" bonus is based on your toons lvl. I have a lvl17 and lvl23 the lvl 17 one gets after the first two runs
58 rAD per whatever i am running. the lvl23 gets 105 rAD. All my other toon (i have 3) are 70, 60, 60. They will get 550 rAD-750rAD a run. I have done many time over. What you make is based on your lvl. And also you don't always get notified that you receive rAD, fineshed LOSQ with no rAD got done and had 1100 rAD. so if your lower toon are not make mutch it's do to there lvl.

Is it really worth farming after the first 2? Certainly the normal ones aren't. Perhaps the epic ones are OK because of the salvage? I just don't think they are paying well for "time played in the game". And with the exchange in flux, paying in money doesn't seem like an answer either.

In my opinion, after the first 2 runs, it's not worth farming because I have other things to do in game like farming for my stronghold and farming for my RP stones. The normal dungeons don't drop enough AD and I don't have time to run epics and do my stronghold farming as wells as my RP farming.

I would love to see Cryptic put in an AD bonus for farming for Stronghold, Sharandar, Dread Ring, Well of Dragons, Icewind Dale instead of or in addition to what they've done.
