Just out of pure curiosity- what would the best combination of character spec, gear and weap/armor enchants be to maintain the longest possible running dot on sw? SW because it is THE dot class. Fury, constitution heavy focusing on power rather than crit, bilethorn weapon/bloodtheft, armor?

I am sure people would say "why/who cares". I am just curious.

obviously would have to be Fury Spec, Accursed Diabolist and Creeping Death wil keep consistent damage procs going. Most effectively used by Attacking 1 tough mob building up stacks on him and then switching to the next mob, your stacks will kill the other one for you while i build death upon the other.

Armor with overload slots can be pretty good too, liek i use a corrupted/Purified combo in pvp using 2 x Red Dragon GLyphs for a pretty consistent and sustained dot damage, with the right DPS Stats in mind for PvE the glyphs can out DPS the 4 piece AD set in some situations.

Last but not least, teh Fabled Illienbruen is only good for massive HP single Targets, this is NOT a sustained dot however, it procs for a while but has a 45 second internal cooldown.

BUT!!!!

None of this will matter cus who knows what gear will be for the new mod ^^

Thanks for the answer. One reason I am thinking maximum sustained dot is the lifesteal change. It makes sense to me that super long dots of medium damage damage will provide a more sustained and consistent lifesteal heal than bursty/inconsistent damage. This because if there is a percentage chance to proc lifesteal for each tick, you are going to get more proc' over a long series of medium damage ticks, as you need it, than you are over a short series of really bursty ticks.

So...does bilethorn proc ONLY off of weapon damage or does it proc from things like shadow of demise and creeping death? Could it proc from bloodtheft ticks?
