Ive got a few question about what gear would be good for trappers:
- Is there a good 4piece set that we can use with an actual good bonus?
Im thinking about the DL or fabled set but i dont know if their bonus is actually really good..
Here's the DL one: When dealing damage, you have a chance to activate Illusionist's Grip at your target. Illusionist's Grip root the target for 2 seconds. When this effect expires, Illusionist's Grip jumps to a new target. It will jump twice.
And here's the Fabled one: Your direct damage encounter power apply Strong Grasping roots to your target. This may only occur once every 40 seconds.
For the DL set: does this bonus work with the trapper's roots? like will it apply strong roots or just some normal random roots? i like the stats it gives
And for the fabled set: this bonus seems really good.. but what does direct damage mean? on what powers does this apply? i dont really like the stats though lol
Im currently using the full dragon templar set since im not really sure what to use atm
Actually you are good with the full DT. It's lack of ArPen means you can utilise PARs and greater red dragon glyphs in the overloads are nice too. Really it's a toss-up between DT and BI as to which is best for Trapper.

There are aboout a half dozen encounters that trigger the set power. Unlike other root powers, there doesn't seem to be an animation associated with it, but an icon does appear at the top of the screen letting you know its active. The cooldown also seems to be closer to 30 seconds.
Be aware too that the roots do not seem to trigger thorned roots so it isn't as good as it might otherwise be for a trapper.
DL and Fabled do not work with trapper roots.
Nor will work in mod 6 as reported by people on preview.
This is a bug as far as i can see.
Atm I run Dragon Templar. It has best overall GS score and you can not go wrong is -5% damage dealt by enemies in close combat. As far as I can see it does effects -5% damage dealt to you too. So you can consider this as +5% DR in pve.
With hindering and constructive you have no problems triggering Master trapper and you still have 3 rooting encounters.
