Jewelcrafting levelling guide?

I've searched these forums, and googled. I can't believe nobody has written a jewelcrafting levelling guide.

I'll start a discussion here, and share what I've learned so far. I made some big mistakes (made warrior items) and wasted lots of resources and time. ARGH!!! I wish I had found a guide first.

My jewelcrafting is level 11 now, after a few days, and I'm finally taking a hard look at all jewelcrafting tasks. There are many many MANY interdependencies... and if you don't track them closely, you'll get side tracked, and waste time and resources, and have to start over building reusable items that fulfill dependencies.

STOCK UP:

First, go to the crafting vendor, and buy a stack of charcoal, rock salt, coal and moonsea salt. You can spend your worthless gold on these. Also, check your main (if you have multiple toons), and if you already have these resources, mail them to yourself. (I don't play my main anymore, just use it for leadership ad making).

Next, I grabbed some assets: worn crucible, worn jeweler's loupe and worn bezel pusher. I have a feeling I wasted gold on these, but I had plenty of gold to waste. I have a feeling I'll need the purple versions of these, when it comes time to make permanent items for use. I'll try to borrow those purples from a guildie, when that time comes.

START MAKING STUFF:

NOTE: in filter, don't hide tasks with unmet requirements, you'll constantly check to see what's missing for the next step, and make it next.

There are THREE cycles of dependencies:

You start making items from 1) raw gems + simple leather, and 1) iron ore + simple pelt

From these, you'll make belts, rings and/or necklaces, depending on how many profession slots you have open.

Start making rings, belts and necklaces. Follow these dependencies:
2) witch's ring --> 5) ring of reformation --> 8) mage's ring
x) witch's belt --> x) belt of reformation --> x) mage's belt
x) witch's necklace --> x) necklace of reformation --> x) mage's necklace

WARNING: Do NOT make any WARRIOR items. You can't use them for anything, and you'll have wasted all the resources that go into them, and have to start over. ARGH! I made a ton of this HAMSTER.

CYCLE TWO:

Once you hit jewelcrafting level 7, the second cycle of resources starts. You'll need 7) semi-precious gems + tough leather, and 7) high quality iron ore + tough pelt

ETC:

I could go on and on, but just in case I'm wasting my time on this, either due to a guide exists somewhere, or nobody cares to discuss this subject, I'll stop here.

I'll see if anyone responds, and of course, i'll ignore the rude flamers for whatever HAMSTER they feel compelled to spew.

QUESTION:

There's one thing I haven't figured out yet, and thats resource efficiency. You can make belts, rings and/or necklaces, with belts using the least resources, rings more, and necklaces the most. Which is more efficient, from a levelling perspective?

Thanks for reading

    Honest opinion here, and I how I did things. I just ran deep wilderness gathering on all my slots on the way to 20, then I took all the mats I created and sold them on the ah. It might have been a touch slower but it made me a profit while on the way.

    necklaces give most XP in higher tiers. You should make all and gather mats over night. BTW, there is a guilde here somewhere.

    I've done a mix of log and short material prep tasks, depending on my degree of AFKness. It's a bit slow but consumes no resources other than ones I can buy with gold. Not done yet. I don't care how long it takes and until we see what we can make with JC at 25, I'm not personalizing no danged rings.

    Necklaces do have higher XP, but eat more resources. I like your idea of doing resources overnight, think I'll do that. I searched everywhere for a guide, don't see them, maybe old posts in this forum drop off, or something.

    Thanks for the response

    I wish there was a way to salvage levelling stuff for resources, seems like a waste to vendor stuff that gives you more xp later, but takes so much space if you want to keep them.

    The main thing to keep in mind in that for the first level of gathering, the short tasks are much more time efficient than the longer ones. Also try to make things that can upgrade at a level you are capable of reaching easily.

    I leveled jewelcrafting to 20 on three characters only by Deep Wilderness Gathering.
    It's very slow but it cost nothing.

    A few days before hitting level 20, module 6 was announced.
    I immediately cancelled all plans to craft any jewelry because I'm waiting to see level 70 gear.
    I would be happy to level jewelrycrafting to 25, if that is possible in module 6.

    This is what I do to level jewelcrafting in one week and I leveled it on 5 alts:

    I make about 70 % belts and 30 % amulets. Could make belts only since it cost the fewest ressources and unlocks the fastest - but you will have spare materials for amulets and it is also a question about having enough storage space - more bang for the inventory slot in amulets.

    After rank 7 crafting is unlocked - I make the 0-6 crafting tasks on other alts and let the one I am working to level to 20 focus on the tasks that actually gives exp.

    If you got the ad to spare you can also buy the ressources - that cuts off a significant amount of time.

    This is probably the most best way. I had 20 JC in less then a week.
