With the upcoming increase to companion max level to 40, many have called for a reduction in AD cost to upgrade. Instead of a reduction in overall cost, how about just changing how we are "charged". Currently we're charged based on level we're upgrading to. I'd like to put it out that that we instead be charged based on each upgrade "event", regardless of level.
So as it stands, upgrading from/to costs:
20-25: 300,000 AD
25-30: 500,000 AD
30-35: 750,000 AD
35-40: 1,000,000 AD
I'm suggesting:
1st Upgrade: 300,000 AD
2nd Upgrade: 500,000 AD
3rd Upgrade: 750,000 AD
4th Upgrade: 1,000,000 AD
This would be far less "punitive" to those that bought max level companions from the Zen Market or though packs.
I know it won't happen, just wanted to put it out there. At my age, it's always best to share thoughts before they die of loneliness.
No, if your companion started out at max level 30 as an epic companion today, you'd be auto upgraded to 35 when mod6 hits as everyone gets 5 free levels, then just pay 300k for the upgrade to legendary as it would be the first upgrade you paid for on that companion.
I'm no fan of simply raising the AD cost of everything without giving us a) more way of gaining ADs or b) possibilities to farm for the stuff (i.e. upgrade tokens), because as it stands the road to BiS will just get longer.

It's not a bad idea, but I doubt it will happen.
What Charononus said.
For example Erinyes/Dancing Blade/Blink Dog?
Owner gains %15 of companion's stats @ legendary. None of the active bonuses change.
