Give Clerics an offhand mace! *Ducks for cover*

I've tried to roll a cleric before but I just can't shake the feeling that I'm nothing but a heal bot. I know clerics do have some decent ranged attacks and that the class has been balanced accordingly. I just can't get the classic D&D image of a mace wielding cleric thwumping the unrighteous on the head and tossing out healing to his cohorts. I know its unlikely that they will revamp the class in such a way but a man can dream...

Playing a DC in Neverwinter is certainly not playing a healbot. Have you tried the new paths?
The right to command is earned through duty, the privilege of rank is service.

    ^This.

The new Righteous path is, well... righteous. Really melts mobs like crazy (depending how you feet, etc.). Though a mace is a melee weapon and I'm still not so sure I want to get that close to the bad guys (Righteous DC is pretty sweaty) - but the new SunBurst fixes that problem real quick (and for the record: I like the new SB mechanic).
