It is hard enough getting a good match in PVP (where each side stands a relatively equal chance to win if everyone does their best), but currently the team leader can kick a team member whereby the team member gets zero rewards for the match AND they cannot queue (skirmish, dungeon, pvp, etc.) for 30 minutes.
The player kicked is told an outright lie in that the 30 minute penalty is because they decided to leave the team early, and that is why they are being penalized. 1. They did not choose to leave early, and 2. they were already a victim of being kicked (no glory even if they were making points, kills, etc.).
It is not a bug, but an exploit. The teamleader should not be able to kick in PvP. I could tell you how it is done, but it would be a violation of the forum rules.
Make screenshots and report the teamleader. Maybe he gets banned.
It is a bug in that a "kick" does not equal leaving willingly. The bug that a leave penalty is given based on a kick (whether the kick is justified or not, voted on or not) is incorrect.

You have a point!
You are not complaining about the exploit (which would be a nono by rule 2345.43 of the ToS) but about the bug after someone used an exploit, which should be technically fine.
The issue is English. Leave by choice does not equal kicked in terms of the English language. So as long as you are kicked (which means you didn't LEAVE by choice), there should not be a leave penalty where the penalty states you cannot queue because you chose to leave early.
