I never bought soulforge on my gf and have never used it because I was always worried that it would count as 2 deaths since most of the time you kill someone with soulforge you get a double kill....
I bought one for my HR and in a fight I should have died then soulforge worked but it still counted s a death...if I died again I'm sure it would have counted as 2. If soulforge works it should not count as a death and people should not get double kills from 1 guy, that makes no sense.
As far as I'm concerned, it's WaI. Soulforged enchantment resurrects you, like you were ported to the campfire. Same deal.
But it makes no sense. All I play is pvp so I wanted soulforge on my HR because it seemed like the best choice and I bought an armor enchant because I thought they are meant to make you die less lol. If i used bark in that fight I probably wouldn't have died at all so soulforge shouldn't count as a death either. And getting double kills from one person makes no sense.

Not sure whether this is working as intended or not, but I do buy the argument that it should not count as a double kill. Just like with killing vampires, it does no good unless they stay dead.
It's indeed a bug, because it does not happen every time. What I think is that you get a kill from SF proc if the person is affected by Reviving Sickness at the same time.
Because in that case, you are indeed getting a minor injury (in PVE) but are revived by SF.
Soulforged never worked properly. It used to give you a few seconds of invulnerability but sometimes didn't proc if you went down too fast. With the new version it sometimes still doesn't proc, sometimes you can get double kills and sometimes not, and sometimes it can proc twice and you get a triple kill. Having a revive animation with a small delay on resurrecting would probably help the issues and be more friendly to acknowledge a sf proc. It's also allow you not to die from the same attack after resurrecting or even being CC'd during the res...

The first time that you died, if you were killed by an execution skill like IBS or SE it will count as a death, which is not correct if you are using a SF.

I don't PvP, but when SF procs in PvE, you lose potion and campfire buffs. That never seemed right to me either. To me, death involves respawn at campfire. On pets that 'rez,' the language is something like- 'brings the player back from the brink of death.'
I think they need to fix this for both PvE and PvP.. No death without campfire respawn. Just my pointless 2cents.
Edit- On the other hand.. they may intend it this way as some sort of incentive to use a different armor enchant. I dunno, but I sure wouldn't be using it in PvP, knowing this.

In which case, it just needs to be consistent. I could see it either way, honestly.
Is that a thing?
