I've been waiting since closed-beta for this one.

How about you?

-Now I need a new Book of the Dead artifact as it is *perfect* for Warlocks-

Oh, yeah... edit to add link to the official announcement:

Yay! Not so much of a surprise, but no one was completely sure.

    Discuss!

I am glued to Dev Tracker and watching release notes (usually posted and server updated on Tuesdays, sometimes delayed to Wednesdays.) Here's a hope: because it's officially announced: (I reiterate: HOPE) it might be made available to play-test this week.

Pretty much. It'll be the next TR, HR. Everyone and their mom will make one and give the community as a whole a bad view of them because so many will be horrible at playing one.
    Threat level 60 Guardian Fighter
    Gloom level 60 Control Wizard
    Dusk level 60 Trickster Rogue
    Dawn level 60 Devoted Cleric
    Eclipse level 60 Hunter Ranger
Wrath level 60 Great Weapon Fighter
    Jinx level 60 Scourge Warlock

Cool, I wonder how they will make summoning work...encounters or tab? Do we think summons will be user-controlled or AI?

Very exciting, I'm happy they could get a new class out with this Mod.

Well, thats kinda expected, due to being a new thing in the game AND cuz those who already have 1 (or more than 1, like me...) of each class want to try something new.

NW gonna be hellish in the days to come (pun intended).

Yea, it will be the HR madness all over again.

Might be a good time to roll up a DC or GF if you dont have one yet. You could sell your services to the highest paying group of warlocks looking to get their queue to pop.

So any D&D people who can explain what paragon paths we can expect to see with warlock ? google just keeps sending me to P&P stuff that is all over the place and doesn't make much sense for anybody not into P&P D&D lol

I'm curious to know if almost every HR in the game is named Drizzt do'urden or Legolas, what would be the name of each Scourge Warlock?

Just guessing here, but I assume that they'll go infernal pact (essentially gaining power through a "deal with a devil") as that's the most "mainstream" (though I'd LOVE to see star pact or fey pact options). If this is true then the two most likely paragon paths are:

Hellbringer: focused on massive amounts of fire damage and avoiding resistances. This would be an easy fit for NW, as it would just be more fire damage effects.
Lifestealer: focused on, you guessed it, lifesteal. This one might be a little weird to integrate into NW, as in PnP it involves collecting "life sparks" when you kill things and using these sparks to gain bonuses.

Warlock is one of my favorite PnP classes -- should be a lot of fun no matter what they do!

Are you sure about that? A lot of classes were fun until they were nerfed through the ground....

Im pretty sure the first PP gonna be the Hellbringer (infernal pact, with focus on extra fire damage and bypassing fire immunities).

But if u want a comprensive list (w/o details), here: Doomsayer, Entrancing Mystic, Evermeet Warlock, Fey Touched, Hexer, Life Stealer, Master Binder, Dark Reckoner (dark pact), Darkwalker (dark pact), Storm Scourge (fey pact), Disciple of Razaundra (gloom pact), Legendary Hexblade (with Elemental versions), Nightmare Weaver, Master of the Starry Night (starpact), Student of Caiphon (star pact), God Fragment (vestige pact), Sea Tyrant Oracle (vestige pact) and the Planeshifter (which can be a Wizard PP as well).

For those who dont know, pacts are the source from where the Warlocks gain their powers. The infernal is the most common, i believe. And then, sadly, I also believe we wont see this implemented, out the said PPs. :/

Hellbringer, definitely. :) I'm also curious as to what sort of Tab Mechanic the Warlock will have. Hopefully it's not as lackluster as the GF's and DC's, preferably something with direct interactions with our encounters. I myself have been waiting for this class for ages now, and it's the next class I love after the Rogue.

I'm also hoping we would see a new Race for Mod 4. Been anxiously waiting for the Dragonborn race!

What weapon does Warlock use? I read pact blade or wand but the Warlock in the blog screenshot has empty hands and something floating about at his side , don't tell me its another version of the CW orb xD

If pact blade is not at least one of the options. I expect a forum riot.
