Some launcher problems and possible fixes

Been playing this game for a year and have gone through the most awful problematic user experience one could get, but some of my problems are fixed now.

First off. What bright mind thought that throwing a container that loads up a webpage - yes, a webpage, html+css styled and all - would make sense and then use that as a Launcher? Anyway...

1) Privileges.
Fresh Arc install. When the Launcher is ran normally (meaning NO elevated privileges), it has no access to write to certain files. What that means? Can't patch, can't verify. Error 36, whatever. From that point and on, I started running it as administrator, which I've seen it's the first recommendation for any other launcher related problems around here.

2) Slower than death.
After running it with elevated permissions, it did patch. And yes it also could verify files. So I normally thought that's it, and moved on with my day. It took me a long while to realize it was this, but hear me out please: Running the launcher as administrator will make it load and behave PAINFULLY slow. I could literally see the css code breaking up in front of my eyes, waiting from 'loading please wait' to 'loging in, please wait' to 'patching' and essentially any stage the launcher goes through, including laying out the UI was really really slow and choppy. I was literally used to restarting the launcher 8-10 times until i get the game client to launch. So I guess that wasn't the solution..

So to recap, running launcher as admin is causing troubles (win7 64). Why that is, is beyond me. What did fix it for me was manually editing the "Neverwinter_en" folder and giving full permissions to the normal user, same as administrator. It then magically worked. No slowing up, no nothing. Why that works differently than running it as admin and why didn't the game SET those permissions when I installed it, again, beyond me. Some bad designing here, devs could maybe look it up.

3) "Version..."
After getting the above problems sorted out, there's still the awkward times when the launcher gets stuck at "Version <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font>..." and again restarting seems to be the only fix. Not sure what's going on with that, but to sum up how inconvenient and annoying this can be, let me give you a real world example, with a bonus note:

I'm in-game and I'm switching a map. Loading screen gets stuck at like 50% (no, I don't have on-demand patching, everything is downloaded already) and I'm getting server not responding* for quite a while and nothing else happens. You know it, alt+f4 to the rescue. So one moment earlier I've been playing fine, but then something as stupid as lag (whose end the lag is is irrelevant) forces me to quit the client. Well not too bad you say? It took 5 launcher restarts until I got back in game. Yes, I lost that gg run.

*About that, I find it ultimately annoying that there's no mechanism for a relog of some kind. If I'm in-game and I get the 'server not responding of death' I can casually relog and it gets fixed (how lag gets fixed with a 3 second relog is also beyond me, but that's a whole other thread). But if you're lucky enough to get it on a loading screen, you either pray it will eventually stop and keep loading, or you have to force quit the game.

That's all, I hope I helped anyone that was having similar problems and also that the devs are informed.

Yeah read carefully, I had to make changes for the "Neverwinter_en" folder. Right click on it, properties, security tab, edit (bellow groups) and the check everything for the normal user - "User(yourname/Users)".
