After seeing the photos of the girl who cosplays Valindra in the news in the main website, I totally had the impression that in the original material, the novels, Valindra's hair was black.

Well, I know in the awesome intro trailer she's blonde, but I was curious. I didn't remember the books since I read "The Pirate King" ages ago. Well, here a wiki confirms it, her hair should be black. At the very least in her non-lich illusion form.

Even the concept art in that page shows her with black hair.

Maybe she naturally had black hair... until she... dyed.

The other thing I noticed about Valindra, is that not only is she blonde and fair skinned. She's an elf, supposedly a moon elf at that.

And she shares no features of an elf at all besides the ears. Even compared to other elves within the game. She's a moon elf, but she looks more like sun elves are portrayed. No faded blue tinted skin, hair is blonde, the eyes and facial structure doesnt look elven at all than how all elves are portrayed.

I mean I like how she looks in the interpretation in the game. But it doesnt seem to match who she is supposed to be at all visually.

Sometimes it's cool to see cosplayers take some creative license with their costumes. Some people go for a direct duplicate. Others try to put their own touches on it.

Regardless, I think the Valindra cosplay was very well done :)

EDIT: And if you check the opening cinematic to Neverwinter, her hair is definitely a very light blond color

I was too busy looking at her cute face, to notice much else. :D
I think she looks great, for the purpose that she wants.

Black hair? I suppose the dust from the Dread Ring might make it appear that way. Maybe Valindra took a shower?
