New CW PvP Combo?

Not something I made, but I have seen it a few times now. It's a 3 skill combo. It's Shard, Icy Rays and Icy Knife. However it's not the skills that are making me ask questions. It's how fast this combo is being used. In at least two matches I seen it used back to back to back. And always on Halfling CW's. Not sure what part race plays past the control resist and +3% deflect chance for a Halfling. But nothing I know of gives a CW what I can only guess to be 100% AP gain or near it.How ever it's being done. In every match I have gone into that a CW uses this combo they come out top score for the whole thing with the most kills and assists and the least deaths.

In case anyone is wondering the combo order is as follows from what I see.

Icy Rays > Shard (in spell mastery) > Icy knife

Choke seems to be used for a back up to Icy Rays. And no other skills are used past those four.

So anyone have any idea how this is being done? Or how to defend from it?

I don't know if any way this could be done, I've heard if hacks, but I honestly don't know anything about those

Well I think the Halfling part is irrelevant to the 100% AP gain issue, because all of the pro PVPers are halflings regardless.

I think if you went full INT/WIS CW and you stacked recovery and silveries as high as you could go, you could get somewhere in the neighborhood of 60% recharge speed. If you had the PVP gear that gave extra damage to the encounter in the spell mastery slot, and if you also took the Transcended Master feat which gives extra damage to Shard and Icy Rays, and if you took every single AP generation feat out there (Controlling Action, Critical Power), *maybe* you could have near 100% uptime on Ice Knife? I don't know. But that is the only way I could see it possibly working.

That is actually a very old combo.

It was very popular in PvP some time ago, but I seem to remember Ice Knife being nerfed so it kind of went out back then. Grain of salt that as it was a long time ago for me.

The other interesting part about the INT/WIS stacking is the bonus to control and resist. It easy to reach 20+ in wisdom, resulting in 10%+ control bonus and control resist. The counterpart will be a low crit rating but it's not so much a problem as SpellStorm

On the 100% AP gain rotation, the 2 spirit pet have to be taken into account for 4% in total. You can add the Storm pillar charging on down time.

And in module 3, with the purified 2p, it could be possible to put some recovery in power or crit.

It could be something like this : http://nwcalc.com/cw?b=cn4:13ydj4:13ydj4,1x30iii:110000:1uz05u:1u0000&h=0&p=ssm

Did some looking in to things Icy Rays can get up to a 75% damage boost if slotted in Spell Mastery. 50% from the skill it's self,20% from the feat. And a 5% if you have the PvP set. If AP gain is based on how much damage was done as well as everything else that effects AP gain. Then there is the answer.

As for tenacity, I got 22.4% in full grim set. Rings, belt and neck. Only things not PvP are the shirt and pants. And seems to do little to help fend off this combo.

It's your imagination, no CW fills AP as fast as you describe. You were just there at the bad time when they can daily you.

Also Icy Rays in Mastery means you cannot perform the combo :) ... I'd say for obvious reasons.
