so quick question about end of pvp match

ok so sometimes i want to PVP straight up 1v1 I challenge the other person to wait after match and we hit the exit / score screen then hit esape to my knowledge and I couod be totally off here , thats acceptable right? is it bannable doing that ,,, got accused of exploiting earlier and wanted to know if Im doing something against the game rule about it.
cause i mean I will stop asking for duels if it is.
