The fishing contest shows again that I really want a different button for interacting with people around me and for interacting with the environment. I permantly open the options of someone (talk/trade etc.) when I try to click on the fishing hole. Even if the reticule is not over a person it often opens his options so I have to move the mouse. And even if people didn't move the next click often opens the options of a player again.
But not only there this is major annoying. Even in PVP or in dungeons. It happens regularly to me that I want to finish someone off that lies on the ground or I want to rezz someone and since someone is near I open his options instead and have to close that again or my clicks on buttons want do anything.
Seriously, how often do you want to click on someone that stands next to you? I can say that I do this maybe once a week when I want to check someone's gear but how often do you click on the environment when someone is close? That happens to me daily, nearly in every PVP match I accidently open people's options. I even died because of this. Wanted to finish someone off, the options popped, someone attacked me, I pressed ability buttons just out of reflex and no ability fired because my screen still was locked.
Please, developers. F to open an item, and maybe v to interact with a player.
I get this in PvP alot, too. Try to squish somebodies head, only to get stuck looking at your buddies armor. That needs to be separate, as well.
Would work on those annoying action-broker blocking horse riders, too.
