On the screen there are three 'tags' sticking out of the minimap on rh top of the screen (ingame) and these give various quests at various times. However, when you click it it only gives you info and then you can click "done'.

For instance one will read:
Professions
Task: Loot skill node when event is active
Reward: Bonus Professional Items

Waukeen smiles upon the realm

At least one Prof. Res guaranteed. Head out into the world and find yours now.

"Done"

WELL, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, IT DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING OF WHERE YOU HAVE TO GO! "Go out into the Word" ?? What in heavens name does it mean?
PS For some strange reason the common word for "newish player" is starred out in the heading lol

When you go onto the maps to do quests have you seen the various sparkling things that you can open like nature , dungeoneering , thievery and religion , you need kits to open these things that you buy from the merchant , if you open these 'skill nodes' you get crafting items and enchantments.

Those aren't quests. They're Events. When the Professions event is active, the skill nodes (dungeoneering, nature, arcana, etc...) yield more profession resources than normal.

Dungeon Delves event means that if you enter a five player dungeon during that time (or log out and log back into the game while already in a dungeon,) the final boss chest will be unlocked.

Completing a Skirmish during the relevant event rewards you with 1000 Rough Astral Diamonds.

Each event is different, but it just means that certain things are boosted or unlocked during the time its active.

They always yield a random assortment of enchantments, runestones, profession resources and sometimes have unidentified gear. During the event, the profession resources are even more common.

I think your question is how do you do these quests. If that is correct what you need to do is pull up the menu where the quests appear. You do this using the letter L. when you hit that letter a box will come up that will list dungeons, foundry quests, skirmishes. So for instance if the tag at the mini map says that Foundry quests are running now; you just go to the menu, look at the foundry quests and choose one to do before the timer runs out.

As far as starring out the "common name for new player" it is considered to be an unkind term and the moderators don't like it. Good luck and feel free to pm me or find me in game @msrebel1972.

skill nodes are located all around every zone except protector's enclave. they are not listed on any map as they are intended to be found and looted. there are five skill node types: nature, dungeoneering, religion, arcana and thievery. your character class includes the skill to loot one of these nodes. the great weapons fighter and guardian fighter's skill is in dungeoneering. the devoted cleric's skill is in religion. the trickster rogue's skill is in thievery. the control wizard's skill is in arcana. for you to be able to loot any of the other skill nodes, you need to have the corresponding skill kit which can be purchased from a consumables merchant. this is the same merchant you would purchase health potions from. the skill kits only grant you a 75% chance to loot the node which means that it's possible that the skill kit could break and you'll have to try again. skill nodes provide the chance to acquire enchantments, runestones and profession assets. during the professions event, each skill node will grant bonus professions items.

the rewards from skill nodes scale with each zone. that means you'll get lower level profession items and lower rank enchants/runestones from places like the tower district... each zone's skill node rewards increase in rank and type as you level up into higher zones.

and the reason why that word is asterisked out is because it is a derogatory name and it exists in the forum's filter to not allow its use.

    happy hunting!

Thanks MSrebel for that reply because that was exactly what I was asking about :) I did not know to hit "L".

One of the items of advice before that was that if you start off with a group in a dungeon and then leave that group you are still in that dungeon and can get the loot at the end chest. This explains to me how come so often you start out with a full group and people just abandon the group so early on, leaving us with only 4 players to then fight the end boss.
