A question about disconnections

I'd like to know about this. Suppose you're playing a Foundry quest. Then, while you're in the middle of the current map you're on you're suddenly disconnected from the game. Perhaps your power went out. Or maybe Cryptic decided on doing emergency work on the servers. Or maybe your sibling pulled out your computer's internet/power cable or smashed your computer to bits with a 1 Googleton Sledgehammer to keep you from completing more Foundry quests than they have.

So what happens when you return to the Foundry quest that you were evicted from? Do all of the current map's objectives reset and force you to start from the beginning? Are the objectives still marked as "complete" but you're forced to restart from the beginning? And what else happens when you come back to a map you were forced out of?

I'd like to know as I'm at the stage where I can add encounters to my Quest, but I'd like to mitigate the consequences of early disconnections. Learned this the hard way when I was forcibly disconnected while trying to finish a quest, only to find out upon returning that I couldn't return to the last map I was on. And as my map has keys you need to open doors that are not objectives and at least one key is obtained in a previous map, I'd like to ensure that if the player is forced out he can still obtain the keys for the doors on the map.

I had recently disconnected from apocrs1980's Ravenloft quest, but was able to get back in and resume.

My understanding is that instances will remain active for about five minutes (maybe less) before they are removed from the server. If you log back in while the instance is still active, you will appear at the entrance of the last map you were on, but keep your progress. If you take too long, the instance is removed, and you will have to start over.

Were you able to keep the items you obtained in that quest (keys and such). My doors aren't part of the objective, and if the player doesn't retain the items given to him by NPCs in a previous map, he'd have to drop the quest and start over... something I'd rather not have happen.
