I've decided to follow the lead of Zahinder, Nyghoma, Mrthebozer, and other talented authors, by withdrawing my quests. While I appreciate the many people who enjoyed my work, I feel betrayed by much of the audience, who decided that many exploit and farm maps should be placed higher up on the list than most decent quests including my own. When the Foundry audience, and the devs, get their priorities straight, I might consider republishing. As long as we continue to be spit on in return for our hard work though, I don't feel like the Foundry is worth the time and effort I put into it. Thanks again to all those who have supported me.
I was going to play part 2 today having liked part 1.
Honestly I don't understand your point. You had loads of plays and people liked it. What more do you want?
I want our audience to wake up, and realize there's more to the Foundry than ways to cheat. I want the devs to wake up, and realize that the Foundry is the only future for this game, and that they need to protect it. Thank you for your support.

I agree that the entire ratings system needs a revamp to prevent trolling. But...
I feel betrayed by much of the audience, who decided that many exploit and farm maps should be placed higher up on the list than most decent quests including my own.
That's not our audience. Those are power levels who care little about the quality of any content. They either rush to end game and try to churn out as much AD as possible or they're gold farmers. Withdrawing your quests won't do anything to address that problem other than may be making you feel better about it. The problem is Cryptic/PWE needs to step up and...
1.) Implement better measures to stop gold farmers/spammers. I see them all over the place all the time, and the same ones too. They need to dedicate people to the eradication of it. They failed to do that in open beta and launch so they're rampant now. This ruins the in-game economy and ruins the Foundry rating system as a whole. If they had put an aggressive stop to it from the beginning the gold farmers would have moved on to another MMO by now.
2.) Actively remove exploit and grind quests, then warn/warn/ban those authors. Cryptic put their stance into the ToS about this, but they've failed to follow through on enforcing it.
3.) Redo the rating system. Many ideas on the forums, so the point is there are many ways to approach this. But they need to do something.
I want our audience to wake up, and realize there's more to the Foundry than ways to cheat.
You are talking about a player base where 90% of them dumb-enough to rush through the levels in what is probably the fastest levelling game in the genre, and then complain about having nothing to do and its boring.
Expecting most of them to realise anything other than they forgot where they put their "special-time sock" is simply asking too much.
You got hundreds of plays, and most of your reviews were 4 or 5 stars.
I want the devs to wake up, and realize that the Foundry is the only future for this game, and that they need to protect it.
It isn't the DEVs you need to deal with, I am sure they realise this already.
Its the "bean-counters" and if they were capable of being convinced they know nothing (and most of them really do know nothing) then the entirety of Western Economies wouldn't be in the mess they are.

I hope you change your mind and I don't agree with your reasons. Honestly I think you should just relax about it all, you have players and if you remove content they may just forget you and then you will need to start from scratch. Things are not great with much of this game, it's not just the foundry and it may well just fail. Which is why we need to make the most of it and hope that in Cryptic sort it out, if not then maybe someone else will. Like Bliz...cough!

with some difficulty I can see, but not understand your point.
I am searching through the HAMSTER load of quests that are just plain stupid hack and slash foundries for fun and nice stuff to do.
Actions like this are imho acting like a spoiled child that didn't got what they wanted and how they wanted it.
sounds harsh, I know... but the decent group of players that value good quests are hurt, and only them, not the ones that make and play the grind/slash quests.
you don't have to agree with me, that's fine... but feeding the negative part of the game, and removing the (imho too small) good stuff isn't helping anyone.
Play for fun, Work to get rich, These two are not compatible!
So you are going to punish your devoted fans for the failure of the devs and the bad behavior of other players.
Makes sense to me!

. . . . I'm sorry but this falls into the line of no "I Quit" threads. It's sad that anyone would have to resort to such, over the silliness of others. I wish the best and a better future for all foundry authors, but please keep such things to PMs as such topics always turn to dribble.
