Any ideas on an asset or npc that can look like an icky gooey mess?

Any ideas on an asset or npc that can look like an icky gooey mess? I'm trying to create some nice, gooey, icky environment. The blood pool is nice and the little brain jars are too, as is the sewer map, but I'm looking for something, or someone if it's an npc or encounter, that is a little more gooey and icky... and can only be described as sludge... Any ideas?

I'm working an a foundry quest that's kinda like taking the Legend of Zelda game and remaking it... so it 'feels' similar... but the plot is a bit different as is the characters, etc..

Trying to come up with something that sort of immitates zols and gels..

Best I've come up with so far is brain jar things and using bigger one to split in to two.

Black tar has a couple of assets that are kind of like zols - looks kind of like a giant pseudopod coming out of the muck.
