I'm trying to plan out my last 6 skill points of my build but I need some help. From what I understand, Shocking Execution is pretty much garbage now. Is this 100% true and would I always be better off using Lurker's and Lashing Blade?
If so my last three points would more than likely be 3 invisible infiltrator, 2 more impact shot, and finish off Bloodbath just cause there isn't anywhere else I can put stuff in. (Maybe Gloaming Cut or whatever its called if it was buffed by chance?)
Nothing is useless and better is subjective.
Lurkers always has been and always will be more damage done -- it buffs many hits including your strong encounters and allows you to use stealth at least 3 times (once before, once during, and again after) which is even more buffed dps.
But SE has its uses. Its a situational skill, useful on those rare occasions when you are hurt or weak and cannot take a lot of damage from your enemy, but your enemy is nearly dead... you stealth in and finish the job with your one hit wonder skill. The rest of the time, in normal fights, its deadweight.
Bloodbath is amazing. Potion/bloodbath/potion combo has saved me when soloing hard content countless times.
I put at least one point in every activated skill (that means, some class features have 0 points). I may not use SE much, but that way, I *could* slot it to try an alternate strategy on a tough fight. So, I dunno, consider the one point setup if you have points to spare. And don't take SE as a constantly equipped skill, its not good enough to use all the time.
shocking exc is not a very effective pve skill , its only real use is in pvp. Shock Exc should only be used as a finisher, never open with shocking exe watever race you are because the dmg has been nerfed, you should use Shock exc as a last restort to take out your enemy before he takes you out if you are low on health, i wouldnt use shock exc on anyone in pvp unless they are less then 40% health
First of all, SE is not garbage. Like many people commented it is very situational. Its uses is solely for pvp. There are times when you are forced to so little hp and your enemy is half hp. That is the time SE is very useful. You don't have the time to out-dps your enemy. Also, SE can bypass Soul-forged Enchantments which almost everybody has in game. Just in case you never heard of it, it's an enhancement on armors that when your hp falls to 25% and below gives you an immunity to all dmg for 2,3,4,5 secs respectively. Giving that in mind you'll will mostly encounter this kind of people in pvp. Also, this has been proven to be the most effective way of killing Devoted Clerics and Guardians Fighters. A party with a DC will mostly win against team fights and DC's ability to support well during Team fights can be visibly seen during gauntgrym pvp. If you kill the DC right away that team will crumble in an instant. As an assassin/Dps it your role to shutdown DC and wizards right away. Preferably kill DC right away during wide skirmishes than CW in a very short time before his team mates can react and only SE can achieved that remarkable feat.
Sometimes you'll blow your encounters & just barely get your daily bar filled while there's an enemy at ~20% hp.
In that case, might as well blow SE to finish them off.
Since Lurker's still needs encounters to take full advantage of it.

Also good for finishing off those tanky GFs/GWFs.
