What is wrong with Ranged targeting in this game?

I don't have this problem in TERA.

When I have 2 enemys near each other I target enemy one cast the spell then I go to target and debuff enemy 2 but when I cast the reticle slowly slides back to enemy 1.

I've read around and other people have these issues and it's strictly annoying and you can't turn it off.
The targeting is too god **** soft.

It actually gets IN THE WAY of playing.

IE: A melee guy is running toward me about 10 degrees to my right, and there's an archer 5 degrees to the right and further back. My cross hair is about 3 inches away from the melee guy and dead on the archer.
What does the game do? Starts throwing knives at the melee guy who isn't near me yet and thus not as big a threat as the archer. But the game ignores who I am actually aiming at and goes with what it thinks I should be aiming at.

It's a good game, but they really need to harden up that ranged combat because it is cheesy right now.

I thought there was an option to turn it off *scratch head* Don't remember for sure though, but I think I saw something like that in gameplay options.

Also, you can use Ctrl to hold target so it doesn't snap to another once you do have the right guy.

Pressing Ctrl every time I want to target something new will be no different then just having a tab target game.

This issue shouldn't be in the game period and I do not see an option to turn it off.

A lot of the game mechanics deal with a primary and a secondary target.

It's the way things are, use it as a tool.

What's wrong with it? What's wrong with it is that there ISN'T A RANGER!
