Why do I with average PC and Internet not see any lags? Except that massive freeze when portals explode.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz

The lack of servers in Europe isn't helping matters for me. While normally I get high, but acceptable ping of 100-150ms, with the event on my ping in the enclave is consistently 200-400ms and pushes 1000ms during the event sequences.
I have a nice computer and I lag in city, my boy has my old computer and he doesn't lag at all. I've lowered my setting in PE and I still lag. I run max everywhere else, oh well I'm still happy

The entire purpose of the event is to stress test the servers pre-launch I would bet.... So yea, it lags a little bit. Only lag I saw was the portal close, like another said, that was a 30 second spike for me. The actual spawns and combat and event were smooth enough. My machine is middle grade, only thing above average is quad core vs dual.

Im willing to bet there will be... I have seen a LOT of people posting saying they are waiting for the new content (gaunt) to come out to come back and they have taken a break until then.
I also know that I personally will spend more time in game so not only will you have people that are taking a break until release, there will also be casuals logging more to do the raid content...

What I think matters not. Its what some server admin or code monkey or whatever at PWE or cryptic or something thinks. Someone thought it needed to be tested again after the recent patches, at a guess.
I can attest to that. Worst lag I've ever seen in my MMO gaming was 1.) LOTRO stress test, 2.) DAoC RvR at launch, and 3.) GW2 Lost Shores (Southsun Cove) event.
this event is a joke causes mass lag real smart of u to do it in main city where everyone spams like crazy anyway
Well, it depends on what you call 'lag', being in New Zealand, I am pretty used to every game being 300-500ms ping times (which is why I usually play a ranged character).
It makes me laugh heartily when I hear North Americans complain about 50ms ping times. They don't seem to know how good they have it
I remember rift's first world event....disaster.
Guild wars 2 first world event.....disaster.
I'ts not like it's unprecedented.
the thing is people are supposed to learn and improve.
at this point saying it happened in other games is like saying "hey i just found out smoking was bad for you" when people have known it forever already.
i am not saying to bash on them, but for gods sake dont condone people failing to learn from the decades of available knowledge.

They are probably using different engines, so a more appropriate analogy would be like the 1968 Chevrolet impala had a poor brake system, why did the 1978 ford fairlane also have bad brakes? Didn't ford learn anything from GM?

Same here, and I have everything maxed.

Another failure!
A feeble attempt at coherent writing from yet another of the willfully illiterate.

Stress test them for what? That makes zero sense
good was worried the grammar police weren't going to be here thanks for proving once again why this is one of the worst communities in mmos

I dunno, Im going to go out on a limb and guess Server Load Stress and Network Bandwidth Stress.
