In a word, YES.

You will at least be able to start running T1 dungeons, you gear score should be around 5k to 6k with all pvp gears.

I was over 5k in a greens and two blues at lvl60.

At 8.8k with full PvP set and cheap purple jewelry.

Fantastic, its pretty much tier 1.5! And the tier 1 or even 2 stuff on the right side of your char sheet has dramatically dropped in price on the AH. Pretty soon after dinging 60 if not immediately you can have 9500gs+ (with rank 6 enchants) and run T2's. Enjoy.

Tiered gear in this game is a bit off.... let me explain.

Depending on your class the PvP might get you around 8500 GS. However this doesn't mean your ready for T2 dungeons.

Some of the classes (GF for example) have BiS as T1 gear set because of the set bonus. It is also one of the hardest sets in the game to get.

T1 and T2 dungeons are not all equal. All T1 are for the most part easy except Mad Dragon which most will agree is harder than 1/2 the T2s and is the reason why most T1 sets are hard to get. It is also viewed that the bet set 2x set bonuses not the 4 piece. With very few exceptions...

Personally I would recommend this ignore GS:
Do all T1 1x except Mad Dragon
Do Frozen or Spider (exploit - you will be hard pressed to find a group that does or can do it any other way)
Do Mad Dragon
Do all other T2
Do CN (good luck finding a group if your a GWF or GF)
