When a reasonable player cannot log on to a game, they check the games website. If your site looks like "Business as Usual", the user will probably try connecting a few more times. If this does not work, they will look at your launcher to see if there are any announcements. There they will see that it says to check the forums for more information. Seeing as the little red dot indicating server status is red, one might think that there would be something about it in the "News & Announcements" section.
Here are some OBVIOUS business tips for a company big enough to KNOW BETTER.
- When you are planning down time.
- Make a locked, stickied post about it in your news forums.
- When you have extended down time.
- Make a locked, stickied post about it in your news forums.
- Put something on the front page of the games website.
- When you have UNEXPECTED down time.
- Make a locked, stickied post about it in your news forums.
- Put something on the front page of the games website.
- Put something on your LAUNCHER page to inform your customers.
Here is some other information you seem not to understand.
- You are a company, not a teenager. Using twitter for PR is fine. It should not be your SOLE communication with customers.
- Having information about downtime in a thread titled "Astral Diamond Exchange and Auction House Offline" does not help us UNLESS we ALREADY know that the servers are down because of this particular exploit.
That is all...
