I think many players are realizing it's difficult to get a group when it seems 60% of the playerbase is a single class. That, and it seems many rogues are awful players, and getting blacklisted from pub groups (esp. if they have one already).

Yea, I was in a pug Cloak Tower at lvl 17, and had 2 other rogues in it. At the end 2nd place **** was 125k, 3rd place was 115k, yet I had 255k. They were lvls 18 and 19.
Some just dont seem to know how to play. Probably heard they are best, flavor of the month, and chose them.
Ive been strictly Thief/Rogue since d&d 1st edition, I know the craft.

Clearly, because you played a Thief in the pen & paper version of the game, you have an advantage.
That was obviously sarcasm. The truth is, the game is free to play, so you may group with people who aren't life-long MMORPG players from time to time. It happens. I hate even replying in this obvious troll attempt of a thread, but I felt like it was worth responding to Mr. D&D pro.

To an extent I'd think I'd have an advantage. It takes a bit more research to play the pen & paper versions. Then you start doing more research. Then some more. Then you start playing theorycrafting, mix maxing, numbers crunching. see the new skills, vs old. whats popping off. At least to me that's the natural progression.
Like as of right now, Dex is 3rd most important stat for a Rogue's dps. Isn't that a bit absurd? But most people wont know this and jack that dex to 20 and wonder why I top them on the charts with a 15 dex.

I'd give an advantage to a person who has played a rogue-type class in a MMORPG over a person who played a Thief in D&D every day of the week. There are certain things, like positioning, that you can't learn by rolling a twelve-sided die.

In the D20 system through all versions gaining sneak attack damage is all about flanking, or called combat advantage now, and people do play with miniatures to give a 3D representation of their characters and enemies.
So a pen and paper player rolling a 20 sided die should have the basic knowledge of what they need to do. Positioning has always been important for the rogue in the tabletop game. They even took that aspect from the pen and paper format to this MMORPG. Other MMOs just try to emulate D&D and rogues backstabbing nature because the programmers were probably geeks who played the tabletop game and it is so deeply ingrained in their psyche that this is how rogues should be.
I've played challenging classes before I came to NWO, and of course decided to go for gwf since it looked cool and interesting.... but rly he's THAT BAD..... like THAT BAD(in twice the font size.. no.. make it triple). Y u need to have skill to play rogue in Neverwinter Online... sure...NOT...I crit for ducking 30k ============> THIRTY THOUSAND dmg.... I rerolled from 10.2GS gwf into currently 8.2k TR.. it's HAMSTER how OP rogues are... I just **** where GWF was a freaking meatbag..... gazillions of glory cause u basically one shot ppl.... OP alert right here.... will be playing this most OP thing until the nerf and then move on to the next OP thing... no more challenging classes for me... from now on: find most OP -> have fun until nerf.
Carnage TR Dragon shard - retired? hell yea it's retired along with Nevewinter
Because people start realizing that other classes will outshine rogue at 60.
And then some people will start realizing that there isn't any other single target DPS class in the game yet.
So maybe they'll also start realizing no other class can outshine the rogue in his role...
Or maybe they 'll start realizing in pvp no other class can do crits as high as 2x or 3x the equivalent of a full health bar with just one ability...
Good luck outshining a TR, in the single target DPS domain in pve or in the burst domain in pvp...

Because Rogues are TERRIBLE at level 60 in PVP. HAHAHAHAHA. Guardian Fighter all the way.
Guardian Fighter, meet Duelist's Flurry. Oh, you are going to attempt to knock me on my ***? Meet Impossible to Catch. Excuse me, if you attempt to flee, you must meet Impact Shot. What's that? How could I forget my old friend Path of the Blade, killing you the entire time.

doubt you could theorycraft min/max your pen and paper port to NWO about your advantage to those 2x rogues.
truth is....
1. could be lagging.
2. could not really care much.
3. could be dead drunk.
4. could be half afk....

187. could be your extreme knowledge of d&d .017b at < lvl 20 actually worked for you on that 1 match.
rogues are only high single target damage in pve where they can spam DF the whole time DF bleed is 80% of a rogues damage in pve. come pvp its near impossible to land this skill on even bad players. the most squishy class with weakest mobility and long animation melee range skills and lack of slows/cc is what makes rogues not that great in pvp. even stealth is horrible it lasts a few seconds getting hit at all basically full resets your stealth meter and hell even if you want to use your once a fight stealth to get some damage in people can still see through it easily if your weapons are enchanted and you can see/target through it if you are in melee range of an enemy player.
it honestly wouldn't matter if rogues could do 200k with their daily full hp bar of dmg my *** too bad it can't really be used when a target is at full hp

255k that's it? hell i have done 350k in that dungeon at lvl 17 on my TR
i use a rogue because it allows me to solo becuse i am best at stealth type characters lucky me i dont do pvp very often, nor do i try to get into groups unless i am forced to to do a quest or mission so being blacklisted means squat to me same for pvp problems many complain of toodles

Actually i enjoy destroying rogues in PVP. Not a big fan of GF or GWF if they get to close. From your friendly CW
