I'm simply the messenger. I don't know what they did or didn't consider prior...

But solutions are in the works...
And are not by any means simple or fast to create. This was simply one quick fix to solve part of the problem. :)

Im not PvPer...but why reward players alone? Why not a whole team based on actual score of the team?

You won?Great, here is your 1000 points/Glory divided at 5 players.
You lost?Well, thats bad.I see you scored a 500 points, so heres a 100 glory for each player.

    Someone leaves?More points for remaining!

What did you think would happen PWE? You need to make the bot kick you if you never leave the spawn area.

I'm sure the afkers don't care how much glory they get as long as they get some each match, so I think that just screws over the people who actually play on the team with the afker. Imo.

Anyone with a programmable keyboard such as the logitech G15 can macro an afk bot in seconds and it was inevitable that once the plan was to kick idle players that this was going to happen.

Want to fix this Cryptic? make glory a token drop. If you participate in a fight then every xx hits or heal contribution have glory tokens drop specifically for that player. Give players a minute or two at the end to go hoover up their rewards and bingo, no reward for being afk in the spawn zone. Not fleshed out this idea but I'm sure that it has some merit worth considering.

There some good ideas there that can be looked into.

This can work in a far simpler format. Have it as a drop, but a drop that is deposited into each player's inventory when it happens, if X player is supposed to get the drop, but is farther away than X distance, the drop goes to the next player in line, then add a +1 check to it, so that it goes to the person after the first one to get it, then to the next person after that.

I'm not sure I've seen a game get this exploited this fast and so much.

I have seen P2P games get hammered exactly like this within days of launch. Aion was flooded with botters and RMT within hours of it's initial launch.

Score limits would work easily and much better than afk kickers. Simple point lines, score less than 750-> no rewards, score over 1500, full rewards. Between those, half rewards. Double rewards for victorious side. That way players need to cap at least 2 flags and assist/kill something, which will need some playing.

Add in glory equipment BoP and daily AD as win a domination instead of play domination, and we're on much better basis. There, took like 2 mins to solve. Please tell me how you'd break that worse than current solution?

When overall score is the determining factor for reward, people are going to move as a group from point to point and not fight. Winning or loosing won't be overly important and simply scoring tons of points from capturing nodes will be. So in order to maximize reward, you don't fight. You ride on by the enemy as they go to capture your point and you theirs.

Like I mentioned, the best system you can really get at the moment is a trophy system like SWTOR had at launch (and maybe still has).
So what you're saying is that BOTH teams in most games will move as a 5 man group and swap points until the game is over and someone wins? There's always at least 1 or 2 people who actually want to play PvP for fun, so this isnt going to happen.

And at the end of the day, why would people do that? I already proposed a 'no exp and glory gear to be bound on pickup' system, which means no exp farming and no glory farming either, unless you really want a specific item. There arent a lot of items that 1 character can use in the glory shop. Its just 1 set.

So, what would people do then? Farm glory all day long for no reason? Stack it up like deck cards?

That is so much worse than what we have right now. If what you're saying was implemented, then the leader would just kick everyone, afk at spawn, and keep 500 glory for himself. Easiest glory you could ever make. Oh, and when the PvP event is active, he'd get 750 glory, so YAY!

Plus, even if the afker isnt the leader, he can easily just afk and have guaranteed glory in his pocket, and if his team somehow wins, then he gets 200, which isnt bad at all.

People are already forming groups of 5 to afk in PvP and farm glory and exp, there's no need to make it even worse.
