Maybe it's the guardian fighter but after reaching 60 (I did ALL quests in ALL zones), which was ULTRA slow. I auto-attacked most of the time and monsters died so slow compared to all other classes.
So I thought after getting geared out, it would get better. Well, I was wrong. After getting full epics, the kill speed of a guardian is still super slow and I don't even feel like I take less damage or do anything more than what I was doing in level 60 questing gear.
I just don't feel like my character is progressing through loot and stats. Sure, clearing Tier 2 is progress, but what do I get to show for it? Where is that epic loot that makes my character feel powerful?
Again, it might just be the guardian fighter.
It's actually hard to get agro most of the time BECAUSE of the low damage. Threatening rush to get AoE marks on targets then go to town on monsters but it won't matter because my damage (threat) is too low compared to other classes.
If a rogue hits for 10,000 and I mark and charge for 3000-4000, the rogue is still gonna have agro. It just feels like the game needs a lot of tweaks and balancing among the 5 classes. In PvE and PvP.
I'm the #1 MMORPG player in the universe!

i dont play a GF so i cant be 100% sure but the one in my guild went full dps and was having a hard time in instances, for the sake of us he changed spec and is running a proven tank build and i gotta say were clearing alot more easier than we did before. have u checked the master list of class builds to make sure ur running correct feats, passives and actives?
U need to remember the primary stat of a guardian fighter is to tank. its not a ciable DPS'er in comparison to something like a rogue and no amount of gear or skill will change that unless they rework the class. GF should do what they do best - tank
In pvp a tank can take points against any class 1v1 with spammable knockbacks and such - i fear running into one on points alone cos i know theyll either wear me down over time or just hold the point forever
Maybe you are doing it wrong? If you rolled a GF to do dmg, you are wrong. Sure your dmg scales and increases with T2 gear/sets but you aren't there to buff the dps meters. Our current roll is to CC/abuse our shield, sure some people build hybrid and gloat about their runs where they are 1st, 2nd, 3rd on the meters but that is in any of the class forums.
Instead of looking at the negative (low damage in this case, which isn't your role to be concerned with), look at the positives. Granted, aggro is an issue right now and we are hoping for a fix. But we still are desired in most, if not all, parties aside from the odd meta/make up groups running double cleric, rogue, CW, etc.
Figured I would respond to you; because, I have been trying to figure this out myself. I have a level 60 cleric with a 9500+ gear score and there is definitely more to loot than just a gear score or epics. You are absolutely right, full purples don't mean to much of anything and either does my 9.5k gear score. What I have discovered is this.
Every class has about 5 or 6 different armor sets that focus on different build choices the devs created, that-well we don't know what they intended. Most of the purple loot that you see drop in dungeons is not even a "set bonus" item, and actually I would say that I have seen perhaps 4 or 5 items drop "out of a TON" of dungeons for various classes with a set bonus. The only time you are almost guaranteed one of these items is when dungeon delves is running and you clear the final boss and get the chest. Other times these drop is pure luck, not to mention your not going to get the piece you may need for the "set" and get a different set item out of the 5 or 6 possibilities.
As a cleric "add off tank and healer" I was thinking to myself this is straight nuts, how am I supposed to kite 40 adds and survive while the group kills stuff, I heal them, and the mobs run faster than I do. Then I started focusing on the "tank cleric" set of items, got a Moun "not spelled right" stone companion and started focusing on defense and critical for heals and heal procs. I don't do great damage either, but what I found is after I started focusing on one particular way of play and getting items focused on those stats and sets focused on those attributes, instead of running and kiting the mobs I stand and facetank out healing the damage with a taunt from the fighter holding heal agro on everything.
So, my point is I guess loot is very confusing at end game, try different things and you will see a substantial improvement. A mis-match of stats is not going to help " if that is indeed what you have" if not disregard.

I really wanted to stack high amounts of regeneration on my GF but it seems you can only get a little bit here and there. While leveling, I had a green set of items with all regeneration and it was crazy fun, my health bar was visibly regenerating.
