So I just bought the two BEST RPGs in the Star Wars franchise. It is SWKOTOR I & II. Now i only bought i because i played and loved both of them on the X-Box. but now they're both broken. So i bought the PC collection to replace them. They installed fine. work fine except i have one major problem. It goes like this: I start the game. (no problems). Click "New game" (still no problems) create a character (once again no problems) I click the last thing on the creation menu. "Play" it goes to a loading screen. But it won't load. (BIG problem) I left it alone for half an hour. Still nothing. It's not frozen, and it's still responding. I've tried everything that i can find on the internet. Nothing fixes it. It says it will work on Win. 7 and it does but it just won't load. It has not crashed. So i'm really confused. Why won't it load? It is already the latest version so it won't need a patch.
So if i could get some help i would be most great full. Thanks in advance.

    Have you checked their trouble-shooting steps?

    Make sure it's not installed in program files (pick a directory like C:\Games). Run the installer and the game as an administrator. Try setting compatibility to whatever the most popular operating system would have been at a time (probably windows XP sp2). While the game is running, alt+tab, hit ctr+alt+delete, find the process running KOTOR, and right click it - set a core affinity (this helps improve stability for games that were designed for single core processors).

    If all that fails ask again.

    REPLY TO POLL AT THE TOP OF THIS THREAD

    The Poll need to be refined....

    TYPE OF GAME... makes all the difference in the world...

    MMORPG = Desktop computer

    FPS shooters = dont matter what system...
    etc

    I would NEVER imagine general chat, auction houses, group chat , guild chat and playing on a console.... yet I have done it in the past with PS2 and eq online adventures... was... NOT the same experience...

    yet.. I will race on ANYTHING that has a steering wheel controller !

    Super mario bros... best on console.. PC robs you of teh real experience etc...

    This Is almost deffo A DX problem or video card problem. you get soundsa and everything is fine except its a black screen yes?

    Hmm ok I reread it and it actually wont load.. Is it meant to be a video playing while its loiading? like ayt this stage isent it meant to load a cutscene? If so it may be a resolution problem or something siimilar ive had that b4 with old games.. Is it the GOG version?? I know this works in win7 because i installed played it a week or so ago. Try make your native resolution to 800x600 just to elimate that issue.. After you do this you could also change your cpu and gfx card to run off only one core or have only one core running. This will make sure that the multi core issue also its not the problem. Try these steps one a time to rectify then change back and try next step.. then try the,m all at once.

    Also... Right Click the shortcut select properties.. Then click to Run As Administrator. Thats a must for every game you ever install if you are using the windows security feature thingy..

    If you are using multiple GPUs with SLI or CrossFire, I've found that older games don't sit will with those.
