Any hope for a native Mac OS installer at this point?

Just thought I bring this up again that us Mac users (players) would love to have a native built installer for Neverwinter. Granted many of us have either BootCamp or some kind of VM that runs Windows but at some point and time it would be nice to have something made from the ground up to run on the Mac.

Any hope for this at all?

There is an old thread regarding that. I don't think they will have a native installer but devs were interested that Mac users can run the game too. So you should be able to run the game on Mac and technical support will help you, however, don't expect a native client.
Let me find that thread for you...

Sorry it seems the thread is buried too deep though I found these: Many users need clients
    Mac; This is Linux thread.

I'm an Ubuntu user at home and a programmer here at Cryptic, so I'll probably keep up with people trying to run under WINE also.

And this is my optimistic post which probably won't come true :p
    Are following assumptions true?:-
This is a client side program and shouldn't affect server end programming.
Client shouldn't be able to leave malicious code as only certain interaction data is being transmitted.
Store can also be implemented in browser and its development can be left in the client.

    If yes, then -
Is it possible that conversion of client code to linux based / mac based system can be left as an open development project for community?

As a Windows user at home I'm somewhat behind on whatever black magic it is you Mac folks use to get games like this running, but I can say that there are totally people that play STO and CO with a Mac system. Naturally, I can't speak to its performance, but I think there's hope you'll be dungeon delving in NW with the rest of us. It just won't be native.

There is only one problem with 'makeshift method'. It sometimes does not works.

However, that problem can be overcome if cryptic or PW provides technical support for it. Hence aavarius, if possible can you ask your friends for feedback about the support for technical problems they may have faced for Linux or Mac?

devs have said they will have support for it, but I would trust other people who have tried their other games on non-window OS. Though my windows laptop can probably easily play the game anyways, playing it on my linux PC would be better.

I can't speak for linux, but I'm aware of this thread. I think there's some eye of newt involved, though.

I wish I could do more than provide URLs.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yeah I knew about the older thread but had a hard time trying to find it. So I thought I re-ask in a new thread.

My Mac is the 2007 model. So at some point I don't expect a whole lot to be play or do about the newer games. But I can say that both the Witcher and Witcher2 run great on it. Those are the only real hungry graphic games I have that are PC. I do have other PC games but graphic wise TW and TW2 are the heavy ones.

Wine is a toss up. Some people it works real good while others have issues. So as of now, I'll stick with Parallels.
